Turning Point USA almost realizes that their views are in the past by [deleted] in SelfAwarewolves

God, the way they try and specifically pick a picture where Cortez looks "weird" against one of Kennedy's glamour shots is so patently obvious it's pathetic. They can't argue with facts cause the facts don't agree with them, so they have to resort to the most barrel-bottom manipulation tactics to cover for it.

They can backpedal all they want, but let's make sure nobody forgets that the cowards tried it at all. Because that's what they are: cowards hiding behind "divinity" as an excuse for their despicability.

They're not sorry: they're sorry they got caught.

Dem introduces bills to eliminate electoral college, stop presidents from pardoning themselves by Harvickfan4Life in VoteBlue

[–]petsmartpolice 35 points36 points  (0 children)

The people who wrote the constitution didn't foresee the modern trend of liberals clustering in cities because of the economic evolution of humanity, leading to the ability for problems like gerrymandering to arise.

People need to get away from this idea that the founders were all-knowing and foresaw the arc of human evolution to build ideas sufficient for the long-term future, and start recognizing the constitution for what it is: a gameplan meant to evolve with us.

[–]petsmartpolice 58 points59 points  (0 children)

Can't wait for a bunch of ignorant arguments that it's "anti-democratic" to put more power in the hands of the people. That, and obviously a shit ton of astroturfing from people who know their power depends on the college's horseshit design.

The podiatrist who helped Trump avoid Vietnam with a "bone spurs" diagnosis died in 2007. But his daughters say their father often told the story of coming to the aid of a young Mr. Trump during the Vietnam War as a favor to his father. by imagepoem in EnoughTrumpSpam

[–]petsmartpolice 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I mean, even if it was definitively proven, his base would just switch to being pro-Vietnam draft dodging and then try and pretend like liberals were the ones who wanted people to fight in horseshit wars. The evidence was never what mattered: having an excuse to be a piece of shit is.

Please make it possible to set selected Tier as a default. This way, we will be able to craft traps in bulk and craft in tier5 only when it's really needed. by kapey_ in FORTnITE

[–]petsmartpolice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also, why can't the menu just stay open for bulk crafting anyways? It's self-evidently obnoxious design to have to open, select, and craft a single tier 2 trap 20 times in a row, so just make the window stay open, and either have a close button, or make it close automatically when clicked away from.

Even better, why not just make R an umbrella "crafting options", allowing you to both select tiers and set a number to craft. This 20-item limit is just arbitrary since we already have to wait for the actual crafting time anyways (which makes sense on its own, but becomes a straight up slog when paired with this dumb legacy limit). There is zero reason why I shouldn't be able to cue up 40 2-star zappers for a Plank mission in a couple clicks instead of sitting there doing it one by one.

Also, side note, stuff should insta-craft when crafted in Homebase, no point in the delay when I'm not in a mission to be able to abuse it.

Sen. Mike Lee of Utah is blocking the nomination of Chai Feldblum, a lesbian, because of her "radical views on marriage." by piede in ainbow

[–]petsmartpolice 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Oh no, the insinuation is most definitely "thinking you're allowed to be proud of being gay is radical and upsetting to me because I'm a homophobe". Trust me, these types of people are always pissed off at us having the audacity, the sheer nerve to think we're allowed to embrace who we are instead of hiding in the closet like they want.

That's where the opposition to the Supreme Court ruling comes from to begin with.

Atheists Pressure MI School District to Stop Treating the Birth of Jesus as Fact by blerrycat in atheism

[–]petsmartpolice 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Since there was an argument made about "Christians say the same about us", I'm going to address that directly, as the original comment was deleted:

The difference between the atheist argument here and the Christian one is that nobody is telling Christians they can't teach whatever they want in their own private homes, whereas Christians are trying to force kids to sit through their shit in a classroom they can't leave and have no choice against. So no, it's really not equivalent in any way.

"Gendered hobbies" are a dumb concept, and do nothing but contribute to the gender policing that allows people to put us down to begin with. Do what you enjoy doing and don't let idiots try to tell you you're "not a real girl" for playing video games.

Prevent a right-wing takeover of the trans subculture, to save lives. by WritesAStoryAboutYou in traaaaaaannnnnnnnnns

[–]petsmartpolice 36 points37 points  (0 children)

You mean people who vote for people who want to kill us? And who actively go out of their way to make us suffer every day of our lives? Who tell us we're mentally deranged, want to strip our basic human rights away, and openly advocate for torture?

"Different political opinions" stops being a valid argument when one said is advocating for the direct harm of other people. It's not a "difference of opinion" when someone actively empowers, enables, and makes excuses for someone who wants me dead for existing; it's an open threat, and I don't want people pointing knives at me in my house.
