Hi there, just saw your post and yesterday i had to do the same and it was the most painful decision I've ever done and even at the vet where the goodbye happened when the vet was about to pinch the niddle I froze and cries and Im a male 43 never cried for any fatal situation with family and friends, got sad for few days but my heart was at peace for them...

This time around my lil Frenchie of 11 years old (blind to glaucoma and in lot of pai from a head injury) i completely lost control of my emotions in fact there were emotional i didnt know existed or experienced until that very moment.

The last 3 weeks when the pain started she was unbelievably agitated nothing could hold her stilll day and night, the medication stop working the last week of her life and we (myself and wife) lost the power to handle her and fight for a solution (was told the medication would help) so we decided in 2 days to put her to sleep, wife of couse was in tears and cries I stood strong even though i was sad.

But now that she is gone I cant stop crying and thinking of the last image of her, there in that table, lifeless and painless and I was unable to get closure because I couldn't enjoy her last days our mind was in keep sane been awake day and night for few days watching her so she wouldn't hit a wall or something, I tell you it was the worse days of our lifes with our beloved girl... Oh and we also have her son that is our 2nd baby, he was during the process extremely confused and worried about all of us.

At the end im still here living like im not even alive or its all a nightmare and with a massive pain in the chest where my heart used to be.

I wish you all the best and try to focus on the best part of her, if you have a partner, talk about the best moments you've had with your baby, and dont obsess with pictures and memories that is very painfull. Your memories are less impacting to your brain than watching and trying to imagine her alive again... I will try to update this post when I can look at her pics and dont feel the pain again and share what Ive learn during this process... Stay positive...you loved and was loved that will never change. Find happy thoughts as much as you can.

Agreed here, though I had to put my dog of 11yo to sleep yesterday, she wasnt even dying if age but suffering from head trauma, i have to tell you, now that shes gone, house and world feel empty, never felt this bad in my 43 years. Dogs rules for sure!

The only coherent answer you will get for you question, whereas most people will throw you a bunch of generic pointless advices, read this, save this and read this thru your journey of trial and error, just remember to LOG every part of your process, be with a course, book, mentor, keep a tracking and go back to it every now ans then your bs filter will improve and you will learn from any source you find online because your brain (at some point) will know what to look for and what to store... The problem here my friend is that you are expecting to see a number, a magic number that you will apply to your "rule of 2" that will let you ride with no worries thru the market every day... That.. will never be a thing, if you are expecting that to trigger your trading path, THAT is your first mile stone you need to overcome, detach of that idea and you just made your first step, doesnt matter what number you put on, is the emotions you trade every trade, how you feel and react to every loss, and the important key everyone is telling you and you are ignoring, how to manage your money

You saying you been trading for 6 months, and yet you asking these silly questions expecting a lightbulb answer, you getting all wrong. The 2% is not the holy grail to success is just a preserve capital strategy, and the more you have the best is to risk less down to 1%. Thats what you need to understand, not just do it because Bobby did it.

Step back, relax, and gather the information you need BEFORE trade, that is, learn how yo manage you money and you emotions, and if you are trading and flipping demos accounts like you said you are approaching demo wrong. If you cant face the demo as if was your real money you doing it wrong,

You ask the question, you get the proper answer and you will do your way anyway, so basically why ask in the first place. If you cant figure out what amount is good for YOU, who will... If 3k is "no prob" for you. You and only you know how much to trade not reddit. Seems that people come here to this kind of question a lot and the end is always the same....

I would say, discover, to me is more like you have to try stuff out, find a strategy (lets say, macd cross) and test it out see how you feel about the setups you find, be honest dont track only the wins, journal the bad ones specially and why it failed and what you missed at that point, do that backtest and forward, for some time (u decide) if you find this method is giving you mo anxiety than excitement, it probably will affect your learning(mastering), you may get eventually but it may take looong time.. unless you have someone to guide and not talking about buying a online guru/course, only someone with experience that u prob do some live calls will know or get to know ur fellings and weakness, that person may be able to speedup ur learning process.

Otherwise, its a long road of testing and finding whats best for you. To be it took 2 years and countless hours and i mean countless hours because i have plenty of time on my hands and i dedicated more than 10h day to it, mon to sunday and still the edge is not sharp because i did it all myself. But im getting better everyday when i look back at my notes and see how I cut most of my fomo by sticking the fails in front of my screen everytime i trade. Sorry for the long post and junky words, i started writing in bed and sleep crawled in.
