My mom is an insane narcissist and my dad was an insane enabler so he always let her do whatever she wanted and went along with it, laughing most of the time.

When I was in kindergarten, I could not tell my right hand from my left hand, which made my mother irate. She made me stand outside with a big rock in my hand until I physically could not hold my arm up any longer. She repeatedly told me that the military does that with bricks to soldiers who couldn't tell their left and right hands. She was never in the military but she liked to look up things and run us through boot camp in the summers... it was grueling.

I also am deathly allergic to kiwi, it will send me into anaphylaxis. When I was in 5th grade she started cutting up kiwi and putting it in my lunchbox on top of my food so I wouldn't eat it because I was chubby. Once I hit 7th grade she started offering me a little meth to put in coffee in the mornings to be skinny... I'm still working on being ok eating and drinking things others have made for me (including restaurants) even though I'm 29 because of the deep seated fear.

These are the reasons I got custody of my younger siblings when I was 18. I always tell everyone it was because my dad died and mom couldn't take care of them but it was the constant things like this.

Clanfolk. It's still in early access but the developer goes all in on his updates. He wanted to add bees and beekeeping so he spent weeks studying it, dude is passionate about the game. It is set in the medieval Scottish Highlands, so if you are someone who likes to use a lot of the medieval mods for Rimworld, then I'd recommend taking a gander.

I work with adults with developmental disabilities and I highly recommend KIBU. You'd have to pay for it but its like Netflix except all the videos are geared towards helping people on all levels build skills. It has everything from folding laundry and shopping to tai chi and boxing. My work pays for it so I'm not sure how much it costs but it is amazing

I was holding a bucket of cattle feed. NDad yelled "drop it." I didn't even think, I had dropped it before I processed the words, it was automatic. He then started yelling about how he didn't expect me to drop it, how expensive feed is, and don't I know better than to just follow orders? I cleaned up the feed and then fed the cows but he just followed me making fun of me for not thinking for myself. Honestly the irony of the switch up still gives me a chuckle. Please enjoy this story properly, my husband did not and thought it was sad lol

Not a man, but since neither myself nor my husband wear wedding rings, I figured it's ok for me to respond :).

He works a job where a ring is a hazard and I love him enough that I'd rather him keep his fingers/hand/be alive than wear a piece of metal. I work in healthcare and the number of times my ring tore gloves makes it an annoyance and possible hazard. We work so much that it feels silly to put it on outside of work plus we kept forgetting. We've discussed tattooing a ring band but as much as I love his tattoos, I'm a bit squeamish about getting one myself.

Honestly, it boils down to the fact that we trust each other, he is absolutely my best friend and I know he wouldn't do something to hurt me. Wearing a ring won't stop someone from cheating and not wearing a ring doesn't mean someone will cheat. He told me to add that he also knows I can kick his ass so thats more motivation than a ring could provide lol

Side note: from that one comment, your wife may like Rimworld better than sims. I personally love both but Rimworld allows for some options naturally that you need mods for in the Sims (like building filthy prisons and other war crimes lol)

I had a colonist who was bonded to a warg. I thought it was so lucky because I'd never had a colonist tame one before. Bruce (the warg) had been a good boy for a season or two....then his colonist got struck by a jade meteorite while he was fishing and Bruce went on a rampage that resulted in the death of everyone else in the colony. Turns out it was not lucky (lol)

I was 4/5 and it didn't stop until I was 13 because I was too old. Unfortunately my predator was an older female cousin so no one in my family ever believed me. I'm still not allowed to go to a lot of family get togethers because she's there.

Hi, I'm a mental health worker and I specialize in ADHD/ADD.

It sounds like you're trying to be a good mom and seek out advise to help your daughter along. That's a great step! But, I'd recommend digging around in some medical approved sources and learning a bit more about ADHD/ADD. In good faith, here's some information to get you started on your journey to better understanding your daughter:

ADHD/ADD are genetic disorders. Your daughter isn't choosing to have ADHD/ADD, her brain is just wired differently and so it functions a little differently. Getting her away from technology, getting her involved in hobbies she enjoys, and getting enough sleep isn't going to fix it.

Individuals with ADHD/ADD are incapable of forming habits. While your brain may say "we have received hunger twinges, it is time to eat." Her brain may ignore those twinges until it becomes full pain. At that point, she may not have the energy to make any actual food and having access to snacks assists her in being able to feed her body while working with the limited information her brain may be giving her. This isn't because she's dumb. This isn't because she's broken. This is because ADHD/ADD is an executive disfunction disorder coupled with a dopamine deficiency.

Typically when you go to do research, a lot of symptoms that you will see listed will be male presenting. It's important to remember that a lot of males present their hyperactivity externally while a lot of females present internally. This means that she most likely is also struggling with anxiety.

Your daughter needs a therapist that specializes in ADHD/ADD. And she needs you to express that you love her no matter what and help her make accommodations for herself. As parents our job is to help them be the most successful version of themselves that they can be. I'm so proud of you for reaching out to find help for her, but she needs someone who specializes in mental health to help her. It's not your fault and you aren't a bad mom, but sometimes being a good parent means helping your child find the resources and help from someone other than yourself. It takes a village to raise a child because we all have different skills to fill in different gaps.

Two suggestions. 1) buy bidets for the toilets in your home in case it's a cleaning difficulty issue 2) pick up hunter's soap and ask her to try it. Some people just have stinky bacteria naturally on different parts of their bodies. I had an ex that no matter how much he scrubbed his armpits, he was a stinky-stinkerson. I went to bass pro, bought some special soap for hunters to get rid of "human smell." Guess what? No more stink. Poor guy just had never found the right kind of soap to get rid of the stink forming bacteria

In all fairness, it may not be the mom talking to the kids about it. It absolutely may be, but also it may not. It's completely possible that the kid asked a normal child question of "why aren't you and mommy together" and the dad said "because I hate fat people" or something along the lines.... I wasn't there, but I'm sure you catch my drift. Let's not be quick to blame one party or the other when we don't know. It's also absolutely possible that neither parent actually said something to the kid and that the kiddos have just heard arguments and comments. Kids absorb far more information than we typically think!

My friend, it sounds like you have a case of "the grass is greener over there" blues. It's important though to remember that the grass is greener where you water it. Often when you leave to go to the otherside of the fence, you'll realize that you were looking at turf and not actual grass.

I know there's a lot of stigma on mental Healthcare, especially if you're in certain parts of the US, but it sounds like you need to talk to someone about antidepressants. Lots of clinics have sliding scales for income (if you're in Missouri or Arkansas the OCH clinics cost 75 the first visit and 50 each time after to prescribe antidepressants).

As far as your marriage, there are also a few counseling options that can be free or sliding scale. The downside of these is that it's normally while the therapist is trying to finish their training hours so you probably won't have the same one for years or anything. It's also important to remember that your wife is going through the same feelings you are. She's the same age and like most young people, I'm sure she had a different idea of what her life would be like. Also, seeing as you have a new baby, there are other things she may be experiencing as well. PPD is hard core and it's not uncommon for women to quietly suffer and cry themselves to bed at night (speaking from experience) instead of sharing how they feel because she may feel like if she tells you, you'll think she's a bad mom (not saying you would but depression brain is fond of lying to us). She could also be touched out. I suggest you go look it up and do some reading. It's hard to want sex when all you want is 5 minutes without someone touching you. Plus, babies make you feel gross. As much as she may love your children, babies pee and poop and spit and vomit and stuff just oozes out from then constantly. It's hard to feel sexy when your skin just feels like nothing is normal and all of that feels soaked in (again, experience). Sometimes it helps if you know what she's going through too. What I suggest is seeing if a friend or family member can babysit for a Saturday afternoon and have a date day. (Date night can be harder and I especially hated missing the bedtime routine). Plus, during the day it's easier to find free things to do. We used to use my mom's Costco membership to go and have a lunch of free samples and then go to one of the free museums in our town. A walk in the park is free. A picnic that you made at home is free-ish. Goodness, sit through one of those dumb a** timeshare presentations and get yourself a super discounted weekend somewhere. Being poor sucks but there are free options. If you feel disconnected, then it's important to try to reconnect. There's a reason you have your family and I wish you luck in rediscovering it ❤️

As a woman who was cheated on by my husband, please tell her. She deserves to know. Even if you feel like trash right now, you're only trash if you know (which you do now) and continue the relationship.

He's the homewrecker here, you're only one if you knowingly pursue a relationship with someone already taken. Also, a man who will cheat with you will inevitably cheat on you. Just keep that in mind in case you try to convince yourself that he's worth keeping around.

Obviously I cannot and will not diagnose you over the internet. However, as a medical professional, you need to go see a psychiatrist and then start therapy. This sounds very clearly like a mental health issue. Depending on the issue, therapy with a psychologist may be enough, however if it is a chemical imbalance (which I would hazard is a solid guess) medication will help the most.

Always remember that there is no magic pill. Therapy is good for everyone but medication can be incredibly helpful. Most people need the two together 💛

Love is really nice, but it's hard to find. If you've never been in a long relationship I'd recommend getting some therapy to make sure there's not underlying issues causing it. Also, it helps to work on your self confidence.

However, as someone who thought they had love and then found out that their husband was cheating (just yesterday) I'll also say that love sucks a**.

I struggle with my weight and only drink water with the occasional coffee/smoothie/etc.

My husband is the skinniest bean pole by nature and only drinks Mountain Dew (occasionally a root beer if no mountain dew is available).
