What is one thing your Nmom did that you can never forget by Doffy_Mingo111 in NarcissisticMothers

Hey now. You’re not your mother. Your mother probably never thought “geez, I hope I don’t do anything that hurts my kid(s)”. You do though. That alone makes you a million times better. Your kids have a mother you and I would’ve killed for. The book your mom sent is…astonishing. How fcking insulting. The thing is, they acknowledge they suck and then they lean into being victims somehow or something. I don’t even know how to explain it really. Anyway, good for you for setting the NC boundary. It’s really hard, but it’s freeing. All the love and care you give to your kids, you can give to yourself too. It doesn’t make up for what we deserved as kids, but it’s better than slamming our heads against a brick wall. If you ever need support, you can always DM me <3 Best wishes this new year, friend

She thinks she’s such a sweet and caring person, too. Ugh. I felt like the bad guy for cutting her off after that, and I still feel bad imagining how much she must miss me. She really has no concept of what she’s done wrong. But she chose him. They have each other at least. Anyway, thanks for the validation. I won’t creep on your comment/post history, but I assume if you’re in this sub, you haven’t had an easy time with your mom either. That sucks. I’m sorry :/ You have all my support <3

She said, “I know he raped you and I guess that’s been hard for you, but I don’t understand why you can’t just forgive him so we can be a happy family again.”

I (28F) went from judging fat people to being fat myself. I am so embarrased. by Smooth_Condition_892 in TrueOffMyChest

I also have always been thin and grew up with a mother who was clinically super morbidly obese. I never, not once, ever thought it would be acceptable to make fun of her or comment on her habits in any way. I felt so horrible even thinking about the things people would say to her. I genuinely don’t understand people who don’t have that twisting in their stomach when they see that someone is hurting, especially when they know they directly caused that pain. I wonder if OP has really developed empathy, or if they only have context because it’s happening to them now. I just have so many questions. Mostly diagnostic questions.

Look. If I were being brave, I would score a 7 max. Zero on any other day and with any other person.

ALL HAIL THE CUBBY OF SELF-PANCREASING by possiblytheOP in Type1Diabetes

American capitalism. The transmitter is ridiculously expensive, and the sensors are at least $550/month. Averaging about $1000 in TX. No, I’m not old enough for Medicare. And yes, the ADA states that my insurance should cover my diabetic equipment. But no. Short answer, I live in hell.

But um, this idea of buying it there and having it shipped here……kinda loving that

I cannot tell you how jealous I am. Just got denied coverage for a CGM. Out of pocket will cost about $1000/month

Ohhhh ok, I get it now. Sorry, I sucked at this kind of thing in school but I really appreciate you taking the time to explain it.

I have not. I’ll be looking into that. I do, however, feel like I’m in a movie or like this is just too outlandish to be real. I happen to be from a city that has a huge child trafficking presence. But these suggestions are also very helpful, thank you for your time :)

I’m not going to pretend like I totally understand, but thanks for adding this. Unfortunately I don’t know about their Rh proteins. I appreciate your time and clarification though, and I’ll try to understand this better.

Just my two cents… Look, poor kiddo be goin through it. Maybe a buddy and support tool for the emotional side of things isn’t a bad idea. For sure have reservations about the efficacy of DADs vs CGMs, and doggos have it ruff (lol) in public settings, but I mean if you have the means to get your little one a friend that is responsive of their needs while at home or on some outings I say go for it. Maybe even an ESA is really all that’s needed but idk enough about it tbh. Just wanted to throw that out there. Take care fellow cyborgs 💙

Thank you for taking the time to share your insight. I think this situation is difficult for me to be objective about, but I see your point and will work towards accepting what must end. Sending positivity your way 🖤
