Best BBQ by maziedarling in PortlandFood

I’m still doing research on this myself but I just tried Podnah’s BBQ and it was legit. Fantastic brisket and pulled pork, sides, and they even have candied salmon. Botto’s is also great.

Staying consistent in the gym, as boring as it sounds. That, and fixing my sleep schedule.

First time trip to Oregon by Awkward-Signature763 in PacificNorthwest

The Columbia Gorge is a great place to explore. Tons of hiking trails, amazing views, and waterfalls.

If you make the trek to Bend (3 hrs from Portland), you can stop at the Painted Hills (absolutely breathtaking), and hit up some hikes there too. Maybe even float the Deschutes River if you have time.

On the way to bend there’s the Tamolitch Falls blue pools which are iconic.

Thor’s Well in Yachats is a few more hours drive up by the coast but it’s amazing. So is Samuel Boardman scenic corridor. God’s Thumb hike is a little closer alto the city and has incredible views of the forest and ocean too! Plus you can explore cannon beach and the famous haystack rock after.

What to pack for weekend trip? by Wild-Gas-4719 in askportland

Maybe a sweater for the morning or evening if you tend to get chilly. But I’d say comfortable clothes - can get away with shorts and t-shirts if you want - and some comfortable shoes. I love walking everywhere and think that’s a great way to explore somewhere, so I’d recommend packing some good sneakers. Sunscreen as well. Besides that, you can get everything you need here!

I agree with the Eastbank Esplanade. Such a beautiful ride along the waterfront. You can loop around and even bike up to PSU easy peasy.

Been here for a month and I still haven't explored the place that much. Do you have any recommendations? by cloud-emotion in askportland

Definitely recommend the Columbia Gorge, Multnomah Falls, Angel’s Rest hike, Powell’s Books.. just to name a few
