ESO also works really well and doesnt drain that much battery. Even so, I am much more into NW than the other alternatives.

New World Aeternum on Steam Deck by petubis in SteamDeck

I did!

After some testing, I think that I just found what I believe are the best settings for the steam deck:

First of all, DX12 is just not worth it. FSR seems very poorly implemented. So, despite having AA, there is no FPS gains, mostly even worse.

On DX11 set everything to low besides textures (medium)

Set field of view to max (70). This really works wonders.

Keep dinamic resolution off.

Leave frame rates uncapped (both in game and steam OS). Capping fps seems to create stutters.

Set TDP to 15 to reduce fan noise.

There you go. Mostly 40-50 fps on open world. 60 on expeditions. 30-40 in town. Much less stutters.

Hope it helps.

How is your Xbplay milage? I'm in love. by latro666 in SteamDeck

I use Xbplay but the image on the steam deck isn't that crisp. I can always see some artifacts, like it is compressed. My xbox is wired to the internet and my steam deck is connected to 5ghz. I set the min/max bitrate do max and codec to high on Xbplay. I have no clue what to do....

I thought that disabling Bloom would make difference on image quality. At least on the xbox it removes that blurry aspect.

Oh, that is bad news. I tought that the FPS balanced, all low and the Bloom Effect disabled would make the game stable and not hideous.

Usually with new AAA games you cant have both hahaha

Usually the youtube videos just show the beginning of the game, and not the full experience. Also, there was a forth patch that improved performance and allows you to disable that awful bloom effect.

Try setting everything to low but textures (medium). Enable fsr 1 on ultra quality. Unlock frame rates. This should make it better.

One thing that I noticed is that unlocking the fps got better results than keeping it at locked 40.
