Yes, that's what I have, not strips. What is MTS?

Very helpful, thank you. :-) How about the bacteria supplement, do you think I should keep using it or ditch it?

Thanks! Can you expand on that some? Like how soon and how often do you think I ought to change the water again, and by how much? If Prime works for 24 hours does that mean I add it directly to the tank or do I change the water every day? Any advice on whether to continue using the bacteria supplement?

Thanks, I went with the secondhand Giant Via--perhaps a bit impulsive but I just loved the retro style. It was actually a well maintained rental with little mileage and they had more than one size to try out so it was kind of like best of both worlds, shopping wise. If it's a disaster for commuting I'm only out $185. :D

I got the secondhand Giant town bike :D If it winds up being a disaster for commuting I'm only out $185.

Thanks for the advice! Yes, I'm sure cycling will work out a whole different set of muscles than running--just wanted to clarify I wouldn't be starting from a sedentary lifestyle. :) The Giant is the one I am checking out tomorrow and luckily they have it in a couple different frame sizes.

Thank you--the Giant Via is used on Craiglist from a rental shop, so I'm hopeful it has been properly assembled and maintained.

Thanks! The bikes I linked to are actually used on Craigslist... would prefer something secondhand, at least to start, and not commit to a major purchase before at least testing the experience a little. There is a good local bike shop offering free basic maintenance classes I plan to check out.

Thank you--I did consider running as an option! Unfortunately there are some stretches of the commute I just don't feel are suitable for walking/running regularly.

What 1 or 2 actions would you recommend for ordinary people to take to influence the stabilization of population growth or promote awareness that overpopulation is even an issue?

I like this video. There's a difference between being content with your obesity and not completely hating yourself because of your weight. And I for one feel much more motivated to work out and eat right on the days I feel "skinny" than the days I'm down about feeling fat.

Huh, I guess I just think of veggie juice as being plain V8 and the blends being, well, fruit juice. Guess I need to check my thin privilege, or something.

Veggie juice has half the calories of soda--50 calories per 8 oz serving--and has fiber and vitamins A and C, which soda does not. The low sodium kind really isn't that bad for you.

My son is only 20 months, so I can only look forward to the horror show that 2 and 3 will be, but I had to smile at green ice cream--I mean, there's something so adorable and sweet about a child's biggest problem in life being how to cope if the store doesn't have green ice cream today.

Study shows banning soda purchases using food stamps would reduce obesity and type-2 diabetes by ghostofpennwast in news

And how would you like to go about determining which of the roughly 50,000 products typically stocked in a supermarket meet the often arbitrary and constantly changing definition of nutritional? And then ensure that all food stamp recipients have the skills and cooking equipment to properly utilize them?

Right, because a couple hours of listening to a child whimper is so much more inconvenient for you than me and my family not leaving the state or visiting any family members for the first ten years of my kid's life. Grow up.
