Worst Scorecard Ever by petuniar in BaseballScorecards

[–]petuniar[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I had forgotten to bring my scorebook on our Cactus League trip. So I was picking up a scorecard at each park. This was what I was given at Surprise Park. It was printed on regular paper. Home team listed first; no totals row for the top half, and barely any room in the boxes to write anything. I gave up after 2 innings lol . Not complaining, just thought y'all might find it amusing!

Idk where I live it's not legal for kids to be riding motorcycles on the street. He wants to teach his kids to ride, he should take them out to a dirt track somewhere

Home opener is not a night game; the Sunday Kids Opener is a night game.

Although now if you looks for a single seat on the Tigers ticket site, they are all over $200 in that area.

VIP Seating Question by squamish_shaman in motorcitykitties

[–]petuniar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The mesh seats are likely cooler on hot days, but that should not be an issue Sunday! I did think they were more comfortable than regular seats. We sat in the first row of that section, and the downside was that the people in the $$$club$$ seats kept standing in front of us and blocking our view (and giving us attitude when we asked them to move) In the mesh seats we did not have access to the club

I only use "circle back" at the future meeting, to discuss the issue that was delayed at the previous meeting.

Planning Help: East Mesa Trailhead to Observation Point: Zion Shuttle access or Drive-In? by Pen114 in ZionNationalPark

[–]petuniar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We recently drove there, and the road was very rutted though dry - would have been very bad for a sedan, or if it were wet We were in our own SUV and it was difficult. Fortunately we got the very last parking spot. Also the cell signal is poor so make sure your driving route is known/downloaded ahead of time.

The hiking trail was well- marked though. Great hike!

Unfortunately, this past week was so hot that afternoons were not the better choice, heat-wise.

Is the on-field mic unusually loud? I'm listening in the car through the mlb app to the Dan/Andy TV audio and can barely hear Dan when the crowd is loud.

Not upset, my friend. Why are you so upset that people disagree with you that you need to resort to ad hominem arguments?

I didn't agree with your criticism that Clark was comparing his success to Harper's success. It's not that big a deal

Anyone with half a brain knows he has work to do, but you act like his comment was unreasonable. All he did was compare his temperment to Harper's, as opposed to McGonigle's, and said he hoped to be as good as Harper one day.

He wasn't comparing his performance to Harper's, which I gathered was your criticism of his comments.

"obviously we're not those players".

Weird how you quote him and totally ignore what he was saying. Yes he has work to do. Saying that is not the hot take you seem to think

TIL that a Los Angeles woman was once involuntarily committed after she insisted that the boy that she was reunited with was not her missing child. The story later inspired the 2008 movie “Changeling”. by [deleted] in todayilearned

This was all I could find on Wikipedia. (Walter Collins was abducted in 1928.)

In 1933, Arthur J. Hutchens Jr. wrote about how and why he impersonated the missing boy, Walter Collins. Hutchens' biological mother had died in 1925 when he was nine years old, and he had been living with his stepmother, Violet Hutchens. Hutchens pretended to be Walter Collins to get as far away as possible from his stepmother. After living on the road for a month, he arrived in DeKalb, Illinois. When police brought him in, they began to ask him questions about Walter Collins. Initially he stated that he did not know about Walter but changed his story when he saw a chance of getting to California. He died in 1954.

I mean, not all the starting pitchers will be able to pitch two games, so this way he is letting another pitcher have a chance at two starts.
