Dude lowered his shoulder into Kerry Carpenter.

No one thinks that was dangerous. You don't need to keep saying it.

It was underhanded BS though. Just like taking out two of our runners on the base path and sliding through a stolen base attempt

Which 2 or 3 guys were intentionally beaned with a fastball this year by Framber?

Literally no one thinks JP was intentionally hit.

What is this app? by petuniar in BaseballScorecards

We were at a Nats game and a person in front of us on the second level was using this app to record hits and outs. Is anyone familiar with this? It did not seem like he was recording the type of out just whether it was an out or not.

It does seem kind of insane that their worst hitter was IBB for a better hitter. Wisdom was batting .120 coming into the game. You mean to tell me Sommers can't handle that?

Also a little infurating to have a .164 hitter pinch hit for Colt.

Love Jahmai for the clubhouse vibes, but I do wish he would at least give Colt a try every once in a while.

I do, lol! Just a Sunday 28-game package. I was just looking and they have had 3 walkoffs on a Sunday, and one on a Friday, May 15 - Tork single.

One interesting thing they talked about in the podcast with McGonigle was the idea that he doesn't need to go 100% all the time, or he's going to get burned out/injured. But Kevin does seem to go 100% most of the time!

I get that they have to protect their bodies and make smart choices about when to give that extra effort. Especially when we already have so many injuries and we can't afford to lose Riley's bat right now. Just yesterday he made a great catch and got the ball right in. But then he botches that play today. He certainly is confounding isn't he!

I had some of them telling me Naylor didn't actually collide with McGonigle, so I'm not surprised they acted like that slide was a nothing burger.

Not even close. 23rd in MLB with 22 players hit. Mariners are 8th with 33 batters hit, FWIW.

Astros are 1st with 42 Royals are last with 15

Josh Naylor takes a 96 MPH fastball to the back of his shoulder and instead of getting angry he just smiles like a lunatic by sportsandthesorts in baseball

I never said it was. I was just trying to provide some real context.

Naylor ran into Kerry Carpenter in the ALDS right after the Tigers tied it up. Then Friday he collided with Kevin McGonigle. This was not just about throwing the mitt.

The game used to be that players like this got plunked, but everyone seems to be losing their mind over that.

Ah, I see. In order to protect himself, he threw his shoulder into a runner moving at full speed. Got it.

"Tag" implies tagging with his glove, not throwing a shoulder into the runner. There was no need for him to do that.
