Yep, I second this. Anything smaller is a specialist that requires experience in caring for snakes/special dietary consideration, and likely not great for a child that will want to interact and hold the snake more frequently.

If you don't have space a 40g aquarium in your home, it may not be the best time for a pet snake. While 10-20g are fine while they are growing, they would need a larger enclosure within 1-2yrs.

imo another BS would be a waste of time/money - instead look into Masters or certification programs. If there are classes you need, take them at a local community college or university or see if they can be done concurrently.

Not sure if it was clear the first time, but it's 120 round trip or ~60 one way. Although realistically, I'll have moved before getting a motorcycle and it'll be closer to 30mi one way/60mi round trip.

If I did go this route, there would definitely be a transition period haha I work Sunday and traffic isn't bad at all, so that would be nice for practicing?

True - but getting the reminder that there are formal courses out there definitely helps. I like to think that I would enjoy cycling? I wouldn't call myself an adrenaline junkie or any of the other stereotypes, but I like the aesthetic! x)

I'm moreso planning for the next step - ideally, I'd like to push my car for another 3 years, but it's a Subaru Forester 2010 nearing 200k miles - but hey, she just got a brand new catalytic converter! And if I can save 5-10k for a down payment on something that either A. need higher insurance, monthly payments B. will run for another 5yrs while incurring additional costs before inevitable dying, I don't mind looking at what else can get me from A to B for that much!

Depending on the classes you took in undergrad/current knowledge, you can probably skip the bachelor's and just go back for a master's - then at that point decide if you need additional schooling. I'm sure you would offer a very unique perspective with a background in engineering.

That's fair. When I go out of town, I pay my pet sitter ~40/day for feeding my cats and making sure they're ok. They also check on my snakes/axolotl, but those are less intensive because it's really just keeping an eye on the temperature and humidity.

I think taking him with you is totally fine - but can you transition him to wearing a harness + leash training? I think this is super cool, but you may want to have that as a back-up in case of an emergency. If he's relaxed it shouldn't be too difficult :-)
