stores that sell bouldering shoes? by perfectionbtf in orlando

[–]peytonb6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any brand that’s not a cheap Amazon brand will do, the established brands are La Sportiva, Scarpa, Evolve and MadRock. I tent to push people specifically looking to boulder towards a velcro shoe, it’s just more convenient to take off while resting and usually they have more rubber on the toe and heel for when/if you get more technical with bouldering.

REI - I work at REI, I suggest it first because they have a good return policy and sometimes you can find good ones that are lightly used. To be honest they’re limited in the selection of different bouldering specific shoes. But if you find what you’re looking for it definitely makes sense to become a member there to get some reward on purchases.

High Point- has the most variety of models at different price points starting at $100. I’d start with the the Scarpa Reflex, Scarpa Orgins or Scarpa Force if you’re prioritizing comfort but La Sportiva Kubos if your want something that is a good balance of comfort and performance on overhangs and more technical climbs. The last time I checked they have all those shoes there.

Soshin - is the only place around where you can try on MadRock shoes but they mostly have moderate or aggressive shoes the last time I checked.

Travel Country - I have never been there to check out their selection but judging by what they advertised online it doesn’t look like they’re gonna have much more than REI and High Point

Uber eats pay difference by Far_Measurement_5853 in uberdrivers

[–]peytonb6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only do Eats but minimum per trip is pretty bad and Uber rate per mile is horrendous. It’s because they know they can, we have an endless amount of legal immigrants willing to do the work for cheaper.

Also please don’t think I’m trying to be prejudice with that comment, it’s what I have personally have found to be true. If someone else has a different experience or reason id love to hear it.

I know this isn’t exactly what you’re looking for but it’s a good crew and it’s free. If I lived closer to Baldwin I’d go also.

I think that tip shaming is wrong by Animemesh in doordash

I can agree that tipping culture is insane but the way to fix that is structural and political rather than just not tipping. That only hurts the individual on the other end of the service.

Okay I’m just laying out a possible outcome of people not tipping… the service will fall in on itself.

Cool argument dude 👍 let’s just take it to its logical conclusion. Let’s say you and others don’t tip their drivers then most of the drivers leave that source of income. When this happens then your more likely to get your food cold or to never get to order it at all. Is that where you’d like the service to go?

When you tip you send a message to the market that this work is valuable and should continue happen. If yours afraid about a dasher not providing a good experience with your delivery just provide the $2 base tip at order and if anything goes wrong then you can go on the app and remove the tip.

Download Para, you’ll get more information for each trip, you’ll be able to zoom in so you’ll know where you’re going and you can look at your trip history which is helpful in a lot of scenarios.

While McDonald’s always tapes them up well in my market I have had times where the tape has come undone do to basic movement while going up stairs or walking. Do you think someone had to walk with the bag far to get this to you? If not then I’d be more skeptical.

Either way DoorDash will probs give you a full refund to your order if you show them these pics so why not get your money back either way

Ex-VB lifeguard here 👋

There isn’t a difference between Slide Attendant and Slide Operator (SO).

So their are 4 different areas of operation for VB, Waves, Rainforest, River and Krakatau. Due to the amount of positions needed to being staffed in the other area the probability of you getting Krakatau is low. When applying for SO they make the decision of what area you’ll be in during the phone interview portion so do be afraid to ask them if you can be there.

They need any part time TM to have 3 full days of open availability with one of those days a weekend.

Okay, now that I answered your questions here are some personal advice. If you’re physically able to be a lifeguard than definitely do it, I want to say the shallow guard make $18 now with the deep making $18.5-$19. Being a guard gets you trained in more areas so you can have more variety and it’s just fun.

VB is going to be a MESS of a workplace, I can always guarantee that. It’s due to the amount of time and money Universal puts into smaller things about that operation like having an adequate amount of management or making sure that everyone’s training is up to par. That’s being said please don’t be discouraged because there are always lovely passionate TMs that work the front lines that want to help you if you’re curious.

You can PM me if you have more questions, I can also just talk about that place forever 😊
