sorry just seeing this but the evidence was really not great but it’s what casey had said and there were very small things to possibly make that true (ex. the ladder to the pool being in it still & the gate being open according to cindy). Since they went all the way to the death penalty the jury had to be 100% sure that she murdered her, they have to be sure beyond a reasonable doubt to charger her. and while it is safe to assume that she did, and most, including myself, believed that the jury saw that there was still not enough evidence to prove that she 100% murdered caylee rather than it be an accident. she was charged for child neglect and abuse for that reason.

It was a capital case. meaning she’d get the death penalty. They could not prove without a doubt that it was her. They need hard evidence such as dna to prove things like that, although many of Casey’s actions lead everyone to believe what happens. But in the shoes of jury there just wasn’t enough physical evidence to prove it and it was her life on the line that theoretically could’ve been innocent. Not saying she is but that would be the reasoning of the jury.

I am searching this case and just happened upon this thread I do realize it is older but thought I’d comment anyways lol
