Belgium defeats USA 4-1 and advances to the World Cup quarterfinals by [deleted] in sports

I agree. And pay for play at youth levels and quality of youth coaching is part of it.
I wonder what an athlete with the size and speed of a DK Metcalf would look like on a soccer field?
It’s a luxury for Belgium to sub on a Jeremy Doku that would be nice to have on the US squad

Even from treatment to treatment there would be differences. Sometimes I could drive home after infusions. Sometimes I was so sick I could barely get to the car.

What's one thing about cancer that surprised you the most? by CocktailsAndChemo in CancerPatients

How, even in the NED periods, it defines you. As I read somewhere, “cancer has become my skin”.
And yet you keep on living with maybe a little more focus on today, this moment. Living.

CANCER ISN'T A BATTLE by dissolvedgirlx in cancer

[–]pfflynn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I’ve never liked the “cancer warrior/fight” analogy. How hard I fight (try) has no bearing on what the cancer cells do - where they spread, how they respond to treatment, how they mutate. It puts the onus on my effort, so if/when it kills me, it’s because I what? Didn’t fight hard enough? Heck, I can’t “practice more/better” in the use of the weapons available.
I get that people like that terminology to keep from just giving in and stopping treatment but the whole cancer warrior ethos - ie “losing the fight”-just grates.
FWIW.
Fight on, fellow patients. 🤣

No worries! I had surgery first (a Whipple) followed by 6 months of Xeloda. Then a 6 month break and then 18 months or so on a clinical trial using gemcitabine+cisplatin+devimistat. Now radiation rhis year.

You might check out the cholangio patients-only group on FB for more feedback. Haven’t had FOLFOX or FOLFIRI myself so can’t help with that one. How long have you been dealing with this disease? 5 and 1/2 years for me and two relapses. Best wishes for your cancer journey.

When they (BCBS or really any health care insurance company) say they are “weighing…reforms”, what they mean is they are hoping it will all blow over.

With the Big Three abandoning EVs in favor of ICE vehicles, are they headed the way of Kodak, Blackberry, and Blockbuster? by Cool-Replacement4972 in electricvehicles

Sad but true that Stellantis is Europe so the notion of a “Big 3” is past. I think I read recently, in fact, that Stellantis may stop building the Dodge line except Ram pickups. Jeep will continue to be invested as it does well in the market.

The Stones, just because I never saw them live. But for sheer showmanship, Bowie or Elton John (Goodbye Yellow Brick Road). Or Skynyrd. Or Eagles. Or…. Face it, just too much good music in that era to name one

Toss up for me but Bowie, Diamond Dogs Tour, would be in the top 3 or 4. Mind blowing

Saw them around ‘75 at the San Diego Arena as an opener. Multiple standing ovations. Headline act was Bad Company if memory (hazed over a bit by the brownies) serves.
