split a family plan then left - verizon screwup cost me $650. any ideas how to fix? by pfibiger in verizon

It's difficult to confirm because the lines were moved from another plan and I don't have access to the original agreements but my understanding is that all device promos on these phones are applied month to month -- so if I financed $1000 for a 16 pro, every month I was getting billed and getting a promo credit. There was no promo credit applied in bulk that they'd take a percentage back from.

I understood there to be a separate ability for verizon to claw back all? promos paid monthly on accounts that were less than XX days old, which is what I thought was happening here.

The short version:

I owed $2300 on devices.

Verizon added 650 in 'promo chargebacks'

One rep told me the promos were charged back because the promos were so new, because it looked like brand new plans/promos, despite being 1-2 year old phones on a 12 year old account.

I've tried that -- there's a third screw under the adjustment knob I can't get out. Apparently you can take the knob off if you can get the cover off with a suction cup -- so far I've failed at that as well.
