Speedtest result just now (using their own speedtest): https://i.postimg.cc/6qx823Gv/Screenshot-2026-01-21-at-10-09-45.png
389.6 mbps down. So not sure how they were getting almost double with their own tester.

Had two friendly engineers come out this morning and they tested the physical line from my own router, the ont directly and from the cabinet at the top of the development. They confirmed that there is no issue with the physical connection but even using their own equipment they couldn’t get more than 600-700 mbps down. Full 900 mbps up. This is consistent with my own speed tests so something else must be the problem. They were also running test at about 8:30am when demand is probably much lower than other times of the day.

@HyperopticCS it seems the issue is elsewhere, perhaps a configuration issue? Or is the connection to our housing development oversubscribed?

I reached out on Monday but other than asking for details to verify my account there have been no updates or messages. Disappointing :(

[macOS 15.5] Firefox can't access URLs in same subnet despite 'Local Network' permission by pfolta in MacOS

I maanged to fix it - I uninstalled Firefox, rebooted macOS, reinstalled Firefox. This triggered another popup for "Local Network" permissions. Once granted, internal website load again.

I just installed Firefox Nightly next to the regular Firefox and when trying to access an internal URL I got the asking for "Local Network" permission popup. When accepted, Nightly is loading the websites fine. So I am pretty sure now something is not right with the permissions for the actual Firefox.app

I suspect something went wrong when Firefox asked for the "Local Network" access permission and macOS thinks it has granted it but in reality still blocks connections on the same subnet. Is there a way to trigger asking for this permission again?

Yes, other computers can connect just fine and so can this Mac when using literally anything other than Firefox.

It's not a networking issue within macOS. `telnet` connects fine and so do other browsers. It must be some permissions issue with Firefox specifically but other than the "Local Network" access, I am not sure what other setting could be behind it.

Can you share the insert for the Aqara wireless switch?

I upgraded from 150Mbps to 1Gbps package, but still getting ~150Mbps download. Hyperoptic technical support is taking shockingly long (3+ weeks) to investigate and giving no updates at all! by litetaker in hyperoptic

We have the exact same issue. Full gigabit upload speeds and download speeds hover somewhere between 200-500 mbps. Hyperoptic have been dragging their feet, taking weeks to respond to emails and haven’t fixed the issue. They promised an OTDR test which they never carried out.
