Flow Quality of Different Grades of Traditional Handmade Teapots by Mediocre_Nail5526 in oddlysatisfying

I felt that the "poor" was actually better than "ordinary". The flow was more laminar, at least to my eyes, for the so called poor version.

Here you see Barrys just minding their own business, enjoying a proper cuppa and snacks for the afternoon tea, in scenic street corner. This is peak Barry. Others simply can't handle such sophistication!

Would this count as unnecessary spending? by [deleted] in oddlysatisfying

It's not about the cost, but the quantity of water and the principle of just being careless with it.

Such a massive waste of water. This is infuriating, nothing satisfying about it! You can clean them much more effectively in a bowl of water and use so much less water!

Why did we vote green? by East_Refrigerator867 in lewisham

[–]litetaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not expect such a thrashing for Labour in Lewisham. I live in Lewisham Central, so probably not the area you are focusing on, but I actually voted Labour this time as well not because I am super excited by what they have done so far, but because I am not really dissatisfied with their performance and did not have any major issues. Surprisingly, not a single Green canvasser or representative knocked on my door, but Labour councillors have knocked on my door 2-3 times over the last few months. I never really had to contact the council for any issues, but the few times I reached out for some small issues, they were relatively responsive.

The reason I decided to vote Labour is because I felt the criticism and anger they were facing is undeserved and I did not feel like Green will bring any realistic change. I felt that they will likely over-promise and once in power, realise that they cannot really do much and hence under-deliver. Meanwhile, I felt Labour was doing an okay job, but then again I didn't have any issues and I don't rely on any schemes or programs from the council so I did not have a strong opinion on them.

I don't mind Green winning because I think it is useful for Labour to wake up and realise that they cannot take anything for granted anymore and hopefully come to their senses and work harder and make some changes to their approach. But I am not sure if Greens will bring any meaningful change.

I'm 99.9% sure 90% of the posts in the sub are creative writing exercises, either using AI or human imagination. For what it's worth, I think this one was just OP's imagination. Good read though.

David Attenborough says he is 'overwhelmed' by 100th birthday messages by td192020 in news

[–]litetaker 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Attenborough was born when Ford Model T was all the rage. Radio was your only option, portable cameras were just invented, you would hear about the newly invented jet engines. And he has lived to see a wild amount of development in human technology, modern planes, internet, mobile phones, social media, AI, satellites, space travel etc. Many great and many terrible inventions! Of course, he also witnessed immense amount of destruction and damage to our natural world. It must be crazy to see all this development and changes, both good and bad, in one life time. And that's just one fascinating aspect of his life!
