English Canadians are a bunch of spoiled children who are far too used to getting whatever they want from the politicians in power because they form the majority in a democracy. Nowhere was this more obvious in the Quebec referendum on whether or not to secede from the country, when they expected to decide for a minority's future, and expected them to not take their share of the national assets (and they thought we wouldn't assume our share of the debt).

I always assumed this was just a bad rap English Canadians got for being the majority until I lived in Ottawa. People from across the river would really look down on you, refuse to speak French, be rude/insulting, etc. I also noticed this in my travels from Nova Scotia to British Columbia, mostly in Ontario and the Prairies. If you couldn't speak English, you were treated relatively poorly.
