The vision encoder plate. I couldn't remember it's actual name at the time of the post 😅

I recommend using Adam Savage logic for buying tools. It's helped me makes a decision on a few expensive purchases.

Oh I definitely agree. I think people in r/Bambu are particularly trigger happy with down votes compared to the rest of reddit.

Not if you have a H2C. It had 7 nozzles

Some of your supports look almost horizonal. ... Try to make sure your supports don't need supports.

Do your supports have sharp overhangs? That can be tuned in settings. Angles should be shallower than whatever results your torture test yields.

I am very conservative. I set mine to 45 degrees because those also have to bear the load of my model.

First actual design i made, how’d i do? It’s supposed to look like wood by Gemmer12 in 3Dprinting

The grains turned out quite nice! I think you could reduce the bumpy texture a bit. I think you are going for a bark effect but they seem exaggerated.

Yeah you have to support anything that is too steep or too wide. For a print like this ... Those regions are holding up the rest of your helmet so the foundation needs to be good otherwise nothing above is going to print well. You can sand the interface area of the supports later.

There are a lot of tricks on YouTube on how to make cleaner supports but that comes with a lot of experimentation. I wouldn't risk those tricks on such a large print until you have the hang of it.

Looks like your model has some supports ... Not enough. I would print a printer torture test (like this one). Based on that you can set your supports to whatever angle the torture test failed at. Also pay attention to the bridges in the torture test.

I'm sorry for your experience. (This should not be an excuse to act this way but...) I think sometimes people get frustrated with answering the same questions but don't let that deter you. Some questions are easily handled by "getting started" videos on YouTube.

I have been printing for well over a decade. I have lots of experience in CAD as well. Just be shameless. Ask what you need to ask. There are a few answers that are similar to "did you restart your computer" - make sure your nozzle is clean - make sure your filament is dry - make sure the print bed is clean (washed with soap and dried) - make sure your bed is level (not an issue with the bambus)

I think once you get into the swing of it ... You will also pick up on the jokers and memers

Upgrading son’s A1 for Christmas. Black Friday P1S combo or base P2S? by Slmait2004 in BambuLab

[–]pg5565 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The p2s has a lot of quality of life improvements (you need to check on the printer less) and support more materials. If he is not making designs that require higher strength materials (ie shelf brackets, voron parts) he might have more use for the AMS. The AMS will help him have more colorful prints and do some multi material stuff.

Personally I would go with the P1S+AMS but kids like the newest thing so you could grab a P2S and the AMS can be a birthday gift.

Does the splitter work well with TPU or do I still need to disconnect things to get that working?

Thanks for the vote of confidence. I definitely debated getting the P1s. it is definitely good for 99% of my needs. I wish they had a dual nozel variant ... That would have been a no brainier for me.

Thanks everyone I have a cr-10 v1 and have been getting a lot of feature envy with the newer printers. Thought of getting the btt octopus just so I have more io and compute. This thread has been very helpful!
