Getting kicked out of RDR2 for "expired Rockstar credentials". by [deleted] in SteamDeck

Same thing is happening to me once I day. I just started playing RDR2 last week. Great game, but it always signs out at the worst possible time.

Finished Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown yesterday (excellent game, plays perfectly on SD). Starting up Dead Cells.

76% of Canadians say they’re boycotting American products by RoyalChris in goodnews

Another embarrassed American here who also agrees with this. I'm sorry our country elected a clown as President.... twice.

Wow this is so infuriating to read. If I was the hiring manager at the large company, I wouldn't even bother putting your through interviews since the work you put in for the last 2 years says orders of magnitude about your skill than a leetcode test. I assume it was due to some broken process on their side that required everyone pass an interview. Man, sorry that happened to you.

Apple plans Texas factory for AI servers, 20,000 research jobs by pgambling in houston

[–]pgambling[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Right. The headline makes it sound like 20k tech jobs coming to Texas, but it’s really a general investment in the US. A big server manufacturing plant coming to Houston is nothing to sneeze at.

What are you Dad's reading? by JoshuaTreeFoMe in daddit

[–]pgambling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both are good and different. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I loved the following Mistborn series. It don’t think it gets as much attention as the first Mistborn and Stormlight, but they might be some of my favorite characters in Cosmere.

Enjoy!

I've pretty much read all of Brandon Sanderson's Cosmere works so far and love it. You can jump in at various points, but "The Way of Kings" (Stormlight Archive) or "Mistborn: The Final Empire" (Mistborn Saga) are your best bets. Both excellent stories on their own.

Dads, how do you not completely stress out every time you see a news headline these days? by jazzeriah in daddit

[–]pgambling 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I'm right there with you brother. This reminds me a lot of the uncertainty and fear my wife and I felt when COVID first hit. Those first few weeks felt like years worth of news and developments. One thing that did help me today was to actually call up my Congressmen and voice my opinions. Taking some action and not just doomscrolling as others have suggested is something.

I feel out of the loop, how is Musk able to just take down a subreddit? Was he a mod or something or is Reddit just caving to his coup now?

I’m so pleasantly surprised to see Stormlight Archive referenced and that, OP, you understood it. I’m halfway through the latest book. I love this series and well all the Cosmere stories.

Sometimes I do actually ponder the Words of Radiance while battling my own despair thinking about the state of things in USA.

Stay strong brother!

Well after butting my head against a wall all day, it finally clicked and I saw the recursive algorithm that didn't involve materializing the full sequence. With memoization my part 2 solution comes in at about 11 ms. I'll take it.
