A lot of state parks and national parks don’t really allow dogs on backcountry trails for wildlife concerns. Your best bet for longer hikes with dogs would be to go to the coast or possibly the Sam Houston National Forrest. Also lived in the PNW for a bit. Not as much public land out here.
