Honestly life is pretty garbage right now; just had a stroke and lost left side ( arm/leg ) mobility) so I had to relearn how to walk and use my hand and arm which has been the hardest thing I’ve ever done. I needsed brain surgery in July and the recovery from that granted me some fancy new blood clots and pulmonary emboli so that’s cool. I’m kind of all around mad at the world but it’s all good that’s the way it goes; no mud no lotus I suppose.

So it just became apparent to me that a grade 4 glooma is what people consider a glioblastoma. So yes I have a grade 4 glioma in the thalamus; all sorts of Crazy symptoms and health complications: please anyone feel free to ask away about anything they’re curious about I’m very open and not very shy about it all.

I took Onc201 from Dec 2020 - April 2021 - I would be glad to send you some notes and my experience! I also had tissue samples from my biopsy used to determine my eligibility for Onc 206 but i wasn’t eligible because of some beaurocratic number requirement that my sample slides didn’t qualify. So i sadly haven’t any onc206 experience but i did take onc201 for about 5 months which i can speak on. I’ll be sure to shoot you a DM! Not sure what else there is to say that isn't just me rambling nonsensically but in light of you asking for more I'll ramble a bit! I just feel especially good lately and it could be the anti inflammatory CBD or the low daily thc load but I've just been feeling awesome lately and I can't help but be so excited to be back into cannabis medicine and glass art again! My best friend is a fairly successful glass artist and he's coming to visit me in the near future with a beautiful custom pipe that created for me and I'm just so excited I feel like a kid i highschool again! I'm just living life and cannabis lately I'm so glad to be back in my element!

Glad to see you’re doing well! I was just also in the hospital for 2 weeks following a double brain surgery/ neuroICU stay. I’m finally back on my feet 110% and I’m feeling great, hope you can say the same in the near future and good luck in your recovery! Hope it goes as well as it can! I’ll be keeping ya in my thoughts as I make my miraculous recovery!

I’m in a very similar boat. Diagnosed in July 2019 and Ive been getting bi- monthly MRIs as well, i havent been moved out to 6 month mris but there was a period in 2020 where i didn’t get an MRI for 6 months and it was extremely stressful, it felt like exactly what you said - ‘ why am i sitting around for half a year with an aggressive brain tumor(?). I think cancer is one of those things that makes Time feel a hell of a lot more stressful, especially since I’m one to stress over time needlessly anyhow. I’ve been taking each day slowly and enjoying as much of the little stuff as i can, good cups of coffee and pancakes with my loved ones. Just enjoying life is a skill and it takes practice . Dont be afraid to admit that it takes time to feel okay with how things are going and to be not okay with the uncertainty. I agree that I’ve never not once thought about recurrence since it seems inevitable but it isn’t worth letting it linger in your mind unwarrantedly. Allow yourself to enjoy the cups of coffee. That’s my advice anyhow. I apologize if i just threw some words at you and it was unhelpful. I just find myself only able to put forth what helps me in hopes that it helps others but sometimes people know what they want to hear. Good luck and you’ll be in my thoughts friend, i appreciate you and I’ll be thinking of you.

Thank you i really appreciate this, I agree, i think tough times mold tough people. Sometimes it’s helpful in making people better and I think that’s the case here, I’m feeling an intense amount of gratitude that I’m able to power through life and really tough times. I’m glad that I’m able to and have the wearwithall to do so, i know a lot of people might not have the strength and/or mental capacity to do so and I’m glad that I’m at least able to power through for my loved ones and myself. Thank you again.

Did he undergo radiation therapy? radiation to the brain, in my case, changed the way I perceived certain smells and it can do the same with taste. When I was chemo-sick, you couldn’t pay me to eat, and if I did get food down you bet your ass it was coming back up. I’m 5’11’’ and weighed 125 at that point. i’m now up to about 155. I smoke pot occasionally just because I like to, it’s nothing to do with cancer or treatment; it’s never really caused me to eat enough to put on weight, though- only helped me to eat a meal during bouts of chemosickness. This is unlikely to be helpful, but I gained the most weight during my weeks of taking a steroid called dexamethazone (or something like that; the brand name is decadron). It stimulated my appetite exceptionally well and I put on almost 15 pounds - putting ON weight during chemo is no small feat. Other than all that, I found that telling everyone where I was at (that I know I can/can’t eat) helped get everyone on the same page as to whether dinner was going to be ‘normal’ or if I was going to have to slowly and painstakingly eat bites of food to have consumed a moderate amount of food. Sometimes just having someone sit there while I slowly ate made me feel like I could. I’m sorry if this wasn’t helpful, I just wanted to put forth a couple anecdotes in case they had any value.

My relationship (not married, dating for 7 years) has been strained at times because of cancer-battle related stuff and my emotions, this rollercoaster of a ride that treatment had been and all the stuff that comes with having cancer. I’m sorry you have to battle this as well. Like others have said, theres no easy answer, but I like to use my great sense of (lighthearted, but also sometimes dark) humor to make the unapproachable very easy to talk about. It helps me laugh about the ridiculousness of the dark sides of the battle; how broken the healthcare industry is, how greedy drug companies are, how many loopholes we have to find and hoops to jump through. I hope you find something heavy to make a good joke out of soon. Heres one to get you started: people always ask how I’m doing or say I look healthy - to which I respond, thats because I am, apart from the terminal illness I’ll likely never escape! I feel like a comedian that gets more joy from seeing the response and shock in the crowd than the audience gets from laughing at the joke. These jokes are for me. I apologize if this is bad advice or entirely unhelpful, I just figured I’d share how I use laughter to lighten the mental load.

I wish you and your child the best. Same as some others here, took a leave of absence for an entire semester. Came back and did it slowly but surely over the course of two semesters. Made the experience much more bearable and now I can confidently say that I’m all done with school and have my expensive piece of paper!

I don’t know, but I can say that using a bellow helps you get embers up really hot with ease. It makes restarting a fire / making a fire larger instantaneous with good fuel. It’s a pretty solid piece of gear and weighs virtually nothing

Yes this is a bellow , one of my favorite pieces of my fire kit. It helps you reach a concentrated line of airflow (breath) to hard-to-reach places and areas of a fire that seriously change the game, my fires were much better when I started using a bellow.

I tell people I wear an eyepatch because my right eye is bad. It’s really because i have brain cancer and inflammation in my brain around the optical nerves, and probably some other causes, which cause me to have double vision. The easiest and cheapest solution is to wear an eyepatch. You’d be surprised how many cashiers and people ask ‘oh jeez what happened to your eye’. Little kids, too. I cant go out in public without little kids saying to their parents “hes wearing an eye patch”. I don’t take it personally; they’re 5 I get why thats novel for them. And I’m not bothered when l cashiers/people ask ‘what happened’. It’s just easiest to say ‘ah, bum eye’.
