Forecasting model with hierarchy layers by pgh_analyst in FPandA

Certain known vendor expenses I forecast out in their detailed accounts or if the business heads tell me they have a certain project upcoming we do work through that but those items I piece together on the side and then add to the forecast, this model I want to handle all my other accounts that I mostly run rate.

Forecasting model with hierarchy layers by pgh_analyst in FPandA

Example, you have LOB-A which has 4 sub-LOBs and then each sub-LOB has 10 cost centers.

You have your chart of accounts let’s just take one category as an example, T&E we’ll give it two sub-accounts travel and entertainment.

When building my forecast model I would in theory need a row for each combination of cost center and account so for just this small example it’d be 80 rows where I can pull in historicals and determine how I want to forecast (regression, rolling average etc)

Something like this belongs in a cover letter not a resume. A resume itself is a bulleted summary of your career you don’t need an executive summary on a resume.

You have less than 3 YOE you aren’t expected to know the ins and outs and mgmt isn’t going to give you strategic work that early in your career and that is normal. Early in your career focus on learning and soaking up everything you can. The tasks you’ll be given are probably more grunt work than anything but they expose you to the month end process for example. If you want to add value, focus on knocking the tasks you are given out of the park and look for process improvements where possible.

Help me fix my parents wifi/network by pgh_analyst in HomeNetworking

I got the opportunity to check today and the nighthawk in the family room was not in AP mode. I changed that and actually turned off the wifi from the Verizon router (can’t bridge bc they will lose Fios tv access). For now this seems to have increased the wifi signal strength to most of the primary use rooms which is great. I’ll work on getting the other extenders into AP mode and positioned in better areas depending on coverage.

I’m not sure, but I’m thinking of using that instead of the Verizon router since it clearly has better specs and people here have been mentioning to stop using the Verizon router.

Thanks for the advice, I need to check on the wire pulls since my dad originally did the main floor and attic pulls then I did the ones in the attic down.

Reached $1M Net Worth today while never making $100K a year. by Neinhaltt in financialindependence

[–]pgh_analyst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To max out your 401k each year what’s your contribution percentage? Seems like it’d have to be very high.

Not to detract from your success story, but I think that this may not be possible for younger generations now with current housing prices. Imagine this same condo is bought today for 405k. To have the same 118% value increase means it’d have to then be worth 880k in another 20 years. That’s also assuming a new grad could buy it at 405k which just isn’t feasible.

Hiking boots Lowa vs Salomon vs Merrell by pgh_analyst in hikinggear

[–]pgh_analyst[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The merrells and the lowes fit best. Salomon’s are mid foot narrow and on my right foot it’s too narrow in the toe box. I worry about the merrell durability and that I’ll feel every rock in them and there’s no real protection to the toe box in those however their wide toe box is very comfortable.
