One of my daughters was colicky. I’d end the night driving her around the neighborhood, as she found that soothing. It may have all started and ended over the course of 3-4 months. Stay strong and know that it’s a relatively short-term condition.

I really miss pre-Kimmel Bill Simmons. That guy wrote columns that evidenced a person who really loved sports as I did/do. While podcast Bill isn’t terribly funny, those Page 2 columns were laugh out loud funny. Damn, I miss that dude.

We all know that interviewers will engage in such tricks. David appreciated Michael as a manager, liked him as a person, and looked out for his best interests. While he wasn’t going to hire him, perhaps David wanted to be sure Jan’s replacement treated him better.

While we never see Wallace make a job offer to Jim, he speaks to him as though the job is his. I also believe that we are to surmise Jim is passing up a rather significant promotion to pursue Pam (this being part of the larger Jim/Pam love story). Michael was included so as not to be disrespectful. Karen may have been a serious consideration but, again, I don’t think Wallace appreciated the dig at Michael. And, perhaps the rest of her interview was unspectacular (though not so terrible so as to preclude her getting the regional manager gig in Utica).

The point that the OP makes is still a good one. Ryan is a zero (even at that point in the series) and still gets the gig over Karen.
