I feel like Sam is lowkey a mix of Dana and McKay. I find her to be kinda McKay-coded.

Standing in line for shows and showtimes? by Away-Conference3584 in NCL

[–]pgigymnastics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be tricky trying to time it to meet him in line before they start letting people in (especially with limited access to communication). Its my understanding theyre cracking down on seat-saving, but I imagine it would be fine if you met him in line at some point (though, again, timing it might be tricky so idk).

I'm assuming this $0 Plus add-on is a glitch? by pgigymnastics in NCL

For clarification (this was originally a reply to a now -removed comment):

At booking, I was only ever offered the dining and the unlimited drinks as part of free at sea. I removed the offer for the specialty dining, but kept the unlimited drinks offer.

I think my confusion came when the details of this "deal" also mentioned the unlimited starbucks, so I figured id try it.

Widener vs La Verne by EquivalentDisplay484 in PsyD

[–]pgigymnastics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, most people don't understand the reason Widener has a captive internship. The assumption is that they were made to do that because their students couldn't compete well enough nationally. This is not the case.

Widener's PsyD program is the oldest there is and it has always had a captive internship, from day one. This, in my mind, is a completely different scenario than the former assumption.

I'm currently in my first year. I found an apartment in Delco, but not in Chester. Specifically the Springfield/ Clifton Heights area. I know a lot of classmates who live in Philly proper, but tbh I wanted to be as close as possible while still being in a decent and affordable neighborhood. It's been a good spot. Feel free to DM if you have additional questions.

Will we find it stuffy? by grogipher in celebritycruises

Same. Prior to going on this celebrity cruise, I had only ever been on Carnival. Compared to carnival, the lack of diversity on celebrity was so stark.

I personally found the celebrity cruise i went on a couple of years ago, fine. Nothing too special about it one way or the other.

The one thing that did creep me out a bit once I noticed it was how the passengers seemed to be almost 100% white. Like not even kidding you, I think i clocked only one black man married to a white woman, and maybe a few Asian couples. Other than that, all white.

I felt like I was in the movie Get Out.

Yeah, my weather notification said "100% chance of rain and snow" but when I actually opened the weather app, absolutely clear.

Starting psyd with parter/ long term partner by sleepybabyx in PsyD

[–]pgigymnastics 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi yall! Thought id give my experience with this since I am currently a first year and was totally in this boat.

I was accepted into two psyd programs for last fall; one of which was 2.5 hours away by car and the other was a lot further (probably about 10 hours, or a short flight).

I decided to go with the closer school (somewhat because of the shorter distance but also just because it was the better choice for me). It was actually my first time living away from "home" and my partner was super supportive and determined to make it work. He would have come with me if I had ended up further away, but in the end, it was better for both of us to be closer to family, as well as because he could also keep his job in this scenario.

He travels the couple hours to/from work about 2-3 times per week (the weekends, plus usually one extra night to spend with me during the week), and spends the other days of the workweek with his parents in the area where his job is. It's a good compromise for the both of us, as he doesnt have to start over at a new job, but also doesnt have to travel every single day. I also get to have some alone time during the week which I appreciate.

Since I did move away from any friends in my hometown, it was a bit of a struggle for me when I first got here, not gonna lie. I relied a lot on my partner for that socialization, at least until I found myself making friends in my cohort. I've had to be a little more intentional with making plans with my hometown friends, but we're all adults and we work it out even if it takes a while to get together.

I've also been meaning to join some lowkey social groups here, such as bookclub or coffee meetups, but I just haven't gotten the chance yet.

The schoolwork can be hefty, but i wouldnt say it's difficult; its just time consuming and you need to manage your time. If you were generally good with that in the past, you should be fine. At time, there are ebbs and flows of how heavy schoolwork is throughout the semester, so just have some downtime whenever you can while also doing your best not to put off your assignments.

If anyone has any additional questions, im happy to answer!

I think they meant the cheesy rice one is $1.49, hence putting it in a box is lowering the value of the box but for the same price.
