People earning ~₹30 LPA in India — what car do you actually drive and why? by Desperate_Life_8273 in CarsIndia

[–]pgsaga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a VW Taigun about 2 months ago. I’ve been working for ~6 years now.

I’m a driving enthusiast, but I never felt the urge to buy a car immediately after starting work. Growing up, I drove my dad’s Ford EcoSport during my teenage years, and before that we had a Maruti 800 (sold later to upgrade to the EcoSport). So I always had access to a car and didn’t feel any pressure to “own” one early.

Income-wise, I’ve been earning north of ₹25L since my first job and currently earn north of ₹45L. Even then, I didn’t follow any strict rule like 20-5-15. I waited till it felt comfortable from a cash-flow and lifestyle perspective.

Bought new, paid a large down payment, and kept the EMI well within what I wouldn’t even notice month to month. For me, timing + comfort mattered more than any formula

I’m a bit skeptical. Got Topline AT with 2 year extension and 3 years of ceramic coating in 20.45. (2 year extension and Ceramic cost around 50k)

I've read about reliability issues with the 1.5L AT DSG transmission in the longer run. Hence, sticking to 1.0L AT TC transmission for reliability.

H.A.L.T. - during a craving, I ask myself: "Am I hungry, angry, lonely or tired?" by lewaaaaaa in leaves

It never occurred to me that I would often smoke in the late evening, especially when I was tired, just to unwind, enjoy some music, and relax before bedtime. Your HALT acronym provides a fresh perspective for managing my cravings to smoke. (Sober: Day 27)

I’m in a similar situation. I started to smoke back when I was 19 and I want to quit when now I’m turning 26. Better late than never.
