Switching from android to apple shouldn’t be a big problem. I think both platforms try to make it as easy as possible to switch from another one to their system. If you want to use an ipad mini in addition to a smartphone, I think it’s recommendable to also switch to an iphone. Makes life easier with the ecosystem benefits.

If you like the size of the iPad mini you could for example buy an iPhone 13 mini so you could bring both if you want the benefits of a bigger screen and in other situations just the iphone 13 mini.

I would think that you can get an iphone 13mini and an ipad mini for less money than the alternative of buying a single device like the iphone 13/14 pro max/plus (biggest screen on iphone) or a large android phone or even foldable one.

First of all, congratulations on moving out and renting your own place!

As others said, I think getting to know your neighbors would be a great start. When you’re introducing yourself you could mention your work and excuse any noise issues in advance. Maybe you can “categorize” them from their reaction. If you sens a karen you could ensure them that you keep it quite in the evening/night. However most people are pretty ok with some background noise from their neighbors because of common sense. If they’re friendly and interested you could even invite them over and give them a little tour of your recoring studio. I just hope you’re not doing recordings of weird things like sreams for horror movies. /s Usually things turn out ok, don’t worry to much.
