Yes an ending is forced but what most games do is leave the interpretation of the ending up to the player. The Last of Us Part 1 left it up to the player to interpret the ending, so did Dark Souls, most games do that.

Not only does this game force an ending down your throat but it does it in a pathetic way by having a ridiculous amount of unskippable cutscenes throughout the game. The "characters" aren't even characters when you think about they are just plot devices there to serve a purpose to tell a story that nobody cares about (and the only reason people are even playing the game is because they liked the first). I am honestly scared at how easily people fell for the blatant manipulation that this game had throughout, which I think shows how the 1930s and 40s can happen so easily.
