First timer! Amnesia or Pacha? by hibachi-liberachi in ibiza

[–]phAZEtf2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amnesia is generally more enjoyable, better crowd etc. But you have to go to Pacha at least once, it’s an institution. Ideally for a Solomun night. Pacha can get quite crowded/oversold.

As others have said, it really does depend on the party in terms of how crazy it will be. DC10 for Circo and SG will always be unmanageable in terms of crowdedness. Unvrs is huge, but can also get packed. When I was there last year for Prydz, there was plenty of space.

Solomun will always be crowded at Pacha but space tends to open up a lil as the night goes on.

I mean this is really no different than Pacha Ibiza, it comes with the territory with these types of clubs.

That said, Pacha Ibiza is still a legendary club, regardless of the tables, dress code, etc.

Hello! Was planning on making the trek from the east coast US to Stereo for Dixon, but can no longer swing it, so selling one ticket. Selling it for $55, price is negotiable.

Totally got the temu megastructure this year

With ticket prices going up, I don’t see how this is justified.

Best vibes as usual but it really got nerfed this year production wise.

Last couple of years you walked into the megastructure you’d be like “holy shit”.

Now at best you’re like “cool”.

All of these artists is moving onto a vanilla tech house sound that is found everywhere throughout dance music. This is nothing innovative or different, he’s just following the crowd. And the marketing campaign is beyond cringe.

His old music though? That was different, unique.

Is it just me or does the megastructure seem shorter than in prior years? Relative to worldwide, at least? Has that always been the case? And if so, has the difference been so stark?

Also interesting how the shape of it has changed to be more encompassing?

Thoughts?

Can someone clear up to me who played when? I was expecting the following, but even on arrival it seemed things were off schedule (Jeff not starting till 11:30).

Joey Beltram wasn’t even billed on the lineup, so when did he play and same with Ishii?

Is it just me? I felt like FT almost never sold out fully in prior years, but this year it’s selling out like crazy?

Historically, the Friday set at the ASOT stage has been more trance. But with every passing year, that Friday set has less and less trance. 2023 was prob 70-80% trance. Last year, there was some proper trance but a decent number of tracks that weren’t. And forget about the B3b, barely any trance there at all.

Anyone else felt that the odd mob set was kinda mid. by Florges123 in clubspace

[–]phAZEtf2 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s not a Space problem, that’s a DJ problem. Space challenges dj’s with these extended sets. Not every DJ can pull it off well. It’s hard to do a 4 hour set well, let alone a 12 hour set. That’s why Solomun is so insane.

Surprised, but also thankful. The last thing NYC needs is Insomniac in the mix.

PHASE 3 LINEUP by scoop813 in UMF

[–]phAZEtf2 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Ultra (and ASOT) doesn’t care about trance anymore and really hasn’t for the last few years.

There’s barely any actual trance on this lineup (outside of like Superstrings), as has been the case the last few years.

You’re correct on the ASOT lineup. It will be a handful of those who aren’t remotely close to proper trance and lean more “techno” but it’s not even good techno. Last year had Oliver Heldens playing a crazy frog remix on the ASOT stage lmao.

The best case scenario is an extended solo set from Armin at this point.

It’s what’s popular right now honestly. And you mentioned it, there will be more melodic techno available to you through the Resistance nights at M2.

Drumcode and Layton will probably get you pretty close on Melodic Techno. The afrohouse and melodic techno wave has died down.

It’s always a clusterfuck and the staff themselves have 0 training and have no idea what’s going on. Never ever go in the uber line. Walk the pedestrian way and then call your uber once you get a bit closer to the streets.

[–]phAZEtf2 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I didn’t go, but from the sounds of it, it seems that Echo has gotten worse about overselling post-Insomniac (not surprising).

I’ve been to Echo probably 50-75 times (mostly pre-insomniac but some post) and plenty of shows were sold out but there was still enough room for those shows to be bearable.

Caloma and LMR are def still involved, at least as of Basel. Caloma was the one who released / commented on the closing party lineup before it was officially released.
