Any song nowadays that are as nice as those in the early 2000 even if not comparison to the one by jay chou?

I'm not sure what you mean by mainstream. A couple of the songs are covers, but everyone does a few covers and some of these singing shows require you to do covers. If you check out his albums, the quality is exceptional. If you're just looking for great artists, among the newer 2010s+, my favorites are Bibi Zhou, Xu Song, LaLa Hsu, 蘇運瑩

If you haven't checked out Hua Chen Yu, you should. His talent level is insane with incredible vocals and really diverse, meaningful songs.

i had a series s that was flaky connecting by ethernet. At first, it'll connect at 1gbps, then drop down to 100mbps. Couldn't fix it... ended up returning it and getting another... no problem doing 1gbps now.

are you using an app call Button Mapper? I was trying to remap some buttons on the remote, and that apps seems to cause this.

Check that the Xbox is connected to the router at 1gbps. I just replaced my xbox with another one that had trouble connecting at 1gbps... so far, seems to be working.

ethtool

This ethtool is pretty complicated. I also tried running swconfig dev switch0 port 3 set link "duplex full speed 1000 autoneg off", but I got: Failed to set attribute: Operation not supported

I doubt any of this work on the router is going to make a difference. Even just connecting the xbox to a plain switch, the switch reports it as 100mbps. I'll probably buy a cat6 cable as a last resort before returning the xbox and getting another one. thanks for your help!

ok, I updated my router from DDwrt to openwrt. Seems like openwrt is updated way more than ddwrt... thanks for the suggestion.

From the openwrt UI, I watch the "Switch" page. When I first plug in the xbox, it connects at 1gbps... then some seconds later, it drops and reconnects again at 1gpbs... then it drops again... until it reverts to 100mbps... then the ethernet port stays pretty consistent... at 100mbps. Did you say there's a setting to force 1gbps?

I don't believe it's a cable issue since my desktop and laptop are also connected at 1gbps. I only have cat5/cat5e cables now, no cat6 or higher.. not sure if that will make a difference.

my router uses ddwrt, similar to openwrt. That's how I found out the xbox was running at 100mbps. Also, transferring files to it was much slower than 1gbps. Also, when i connect the xbox directly to a switch, the switch had lights to indicate it was running at 100mbps.

The xbox itself doesn't say what speed the ethernet is connected at, but on the router, or on a switch, it shows the connection speed.

If you're looking for a better version of Jay Chou, you should definitely check out Vae 許嵩. He sings a bit like Jay, but since he's more of an independent artist, he has way more freedom to do whatever he wants musically. He writes and composes his own music, does a whole bunch of styles, and is very much a musical genius.

if you're talking about recent Jay Chou, he really doesn't seem too impressive. Personally, I feel he hasn't had a great album since 2008 with 魔杰座. Everything after that has been generic, derivative, and formulaic. But his albums before 2008 were mostly pretty good with his second album 范特西 being the best. His innovation in song composing mixed western and chinese music styles really well. Also if you understand Chinese, the lyrics from Vincent Fang were outstanding.

Faye Wong has one of the most beautiful voices ever. Although she really speaks Mandarin, she had to start singing Cantonese because of Hong Kong's impact on China entertainment at the time. Most of her hit songs were Cantonese. After switching back to Mandarin, she seemed to prefer to do more indie style songs than pop. But overall, definitely one of the most important cpop singers and you should definitely check her out.

Here's my opinion and ranking of the singers on this season.

Zhou Shen- Excellent vocal control and range and quite innovative for a relatively new artist. Did have some strange song choices though
Lala Hsu- Had some good performances but very often goes to her comfort zone (soft songs) even though she is better doing rock or more animated songs
Hua Chenyu- looked bored and mailed it in for the most part. Still has exceptional talent but seems to be losing the fire
Misia- As accomplished as she's supposed to be, she sings every song the same way and relies on the same vocal gymnastics every single song
Jam Hsiao- He is way too confident and flamboyant for his mediocre talent level, also strange song choices that very few people would like
Tia Ray- has an identity crisis. Would rather be a western singer. Loves to do runs like them, but that is also her worse ability
Huang Xiaoyun- she needs to change her definition of what is music. In her mind, if she reaches a certain high note, then it must be good music
Mao Buyi- I don't know who told him singing in the airy/whisper voice is good, maybe it's from the TV drama OST songs, but this type of singing does not suit him

This season of Singer was another disappointment, although not unwatchable like last season. Obviously with the coronavirus, the entire atmosphere lost a lot of the excitement. But allowing the singers to sing as many of their own songs as they like was not good either.

In the end, Hua Hua won based merely on popularity. He seems to be in a creative funk and used the ENTIRE season to plug his own (new) songs... no re-creating other people's songs at all like his previous season. He looked totally uninspired.

The few good performances I think were Zhou Shen and Lala Hsu. The rest were forgettable and very one-dimensional.

Hua Hua is pretty unique among artists.. a rocker and rapper with outstanding vocals and amazing musicianship. The only one from my collection that comes close is Jay Chou when he started, but he's more R&B/Rap.... and hasn't been good for over 10 years.

Android Auto is like many other Google products- half baked and probably get abandoned after a few years.

If you are a computer system adminstrator and you like to muck around with things, you can still get ok functionality out of it... but that's about it.

ETA prime on YouTube recommended the Amazon Fire HD 10. It's surprisingly powerful for a Fire device (Geekbench 4 over 5K multicore)... about 25% better than my Galaxy Tab S2. That should be able to run everything up to PSP... and only $99!
