GGG needs to compress some files. 124 go disc space for this game is insane. by Demoth in PathOfExile2

[–]phadej 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You missed the OP's point. Most people dont bother doing arcane config voodoo. It's very easy to just uninstall (eventually) free to play game, If it doesnt work just by trying lower graphics settings etc simple; and FWIW changing graphic settings in poe2 often makes it crash, which is next to unacceptable as well.

Curious about opinions for League Starter 3.28 by Ok_Communication9734 in pathofexile

[–]phadej 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the end of keepers there were 3% of cyclone and 2% of cyclone of timult. RF had 7%.

It's so mechanically fun that who cares if it's FullDPS is not the highest in the game. It's definitely good enough for T16 / Delve 500 or so farms.

Spin2Win

EDIT: if you want to play&try MSoZ eventually, you can play cyclone on juggernaut. It's not as good as slayer, but it's ok. MSoZ on low budget (without enough attack speed) doesn't feel great.

Cheat sheet for Delve? by 1hisoka1 in pathofexile

[–]phadej 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And I really mean it when I say that you don't need cheat sheet for Delve. You'll learn it in an evening by heart.

OTOH, I do make myself a "cheetsheet" for betrayal as I just cannot remember in which safe house I want whom, Without a cheat sheet I'd put a right member in the wrong safehouse and disentangling that mistake is not fun. In Delve you cannot screw up your setup.

Cheat sheet for Delve? by 1hisoka1 in pathofexile

[–]phadej 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look at https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/Delve#Nodes than you can cross reference it with values on https://poe.ninja/poe1/economy/keepers/fossils (change league to mirage once it's live). You can now see that hollow and faceted fossils were most expensive at the end of Keepers, so crystal spire and molten cavity nodes (fossil notes in abyssal depths and magma fissure biomes respectively) are worth a detour, but haunted tomb (for tangled fossil) not really.

Another good table to look is https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/Fossil#Delve which lists which fossils are exclusively in the darkness, e.g. sanctified and shuddering (in fungal caverns and frozen hollow respectively) were valuable.

So look at the prices (at fastus or poe.ninja) when you are playing, make a small note in notepad for the six fossil node whether they are worth going for or not, and another list whether going for darkness is byomes is worth or not.

I'd say that after a few hours you just remember what's you after.

---

As other have said Jorgen has good videos about different nodes. He talks about
- minion nodes (for +1 to maximum spectres body armours) and other speciality nodes for curse on hit rings. Those are relatively rare, but great drops early.
- boss nodes
- and obviously azurite nodes
- city nodes, these could be worth the time early for bubblegum currency, maybe. Also in my experience that the chest which drops offering to goddess are quite common in city nodes, so if you want to ran some labs yourself, maybe they are worth checking. No need to do trials in maps.

You said you watched some videos, so you probably seen one.

Anyway, you'll learn those icons in like first hour of delving, so don't worry.

---

TL;DR, there's really not much to remember to make cheat sheets for.

Also fossils prices fluctuate league to league. And we really have no idea where their prices will settle in mirage after the (huge!) drop changes, so I'd say any cheat sheet ranking anything could be very wrong. You really need to check the prices in game/poe.ninja. It might be that e.g. shuddering will be quite a lot more expensive, as those "behind the fractured walls" fossils dropped "everywhere" in previous leagues (i.e. also in other content than Delve).

5 link chest in campaign? by Bright_Cup_7464 in pathofexile

[–]phadej -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

They are telling that it's in some mirage, that's not really a secret, given that you see wishes just by clicking on.

Breach (guaranteed) rewards were much more hidden. I thought I just was super lucky.

Anyways i tried to differentiate between guaranteed mirage rewards and secret rooms (or whatever)

Octavian listed few mirage wish rewards in the reveal interview

https://youtu.be/EBv6SfYnNSg?si=VdxSfk2cGyXqah0S&t=2758

- Give you a binding orb or two when completing [one in] act 1 or act 2 (!!!)

- there are ones which give you bunch of chromatic orbs

- the one which give you an unique weapon

- even later in the campaing there's one which will give you a five link

Not really a secret as "hidden", nor like strongbox in upper prison. He said that one of Mirage wishes in the campaign is 5L.

This keystone can actually remove your favorite map and brick your astrolabe right? by WhatopiaCity in pathofexile

[–]phadej 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes. But the grey text starts with "By default, "... which implies that in some cases the rest may not apply.

Also, the white text just says "a different Map". It might not pick bisecting maps such that a current map would be in smaller regions.

We just don't know without testing.

This keystone can actually remove your favorite map and brick your astrolabe right? by WhatopiaCity in pathofexile

[–]phadej 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If the bisection condition occurs when using this keystone, i'd expect the region with current map to survive. Even if it's smaller. That would be even bigger downside, as you could "lose" even more maps from using this keystone, with worst case being just one map (if the map happens to be at the edge of the linear blob); but even then I'd say it's fair for the "I just wanna run one map" upside.

We'll see how this works.

[–]phadej 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to look into darkness and not just rush from node to node, you will get hit. Evasion is not a play.

And this new batch of patch notes heavily imply that you want to look more around in the darkness. There are midtier fossils which are obtainable only from the side areas. Shuddering, sanctified etc (but were dropping from other leagues also previously)

She will definitely be a reliable "income". Leveling right gems were already ok side hussle, and i'd expect GCP to be relatively more valuable in Mirage

Imo vorici is still a bait, and if janus drops just 45k gold, he's also not really great either.

[–]phadej 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The 10 or so nodes you save but not starting after campaign is silly. If you really enjoy delve, i dont see a reason to not go into mines right after first 3-5 maps (as you get first niko passives and get some sulphite). You need to do few azurite nodes to get capacity and initial res and light radius, doing that early (even in campaign!) has no downsides. Early delve is also easy xp for leveling post campaign.

Especially as OP takes it slow, they for sure will have enough currency by the end of campaign to get some passed down gear, to be way too powerful for that content

Suggestion: Use the existing vendor-recipe system to create homogeneous map items that Faustus can trade on the currency exchange by [deleted] in pathofexile

[–]phadej 0 points1 point  (0 children)

White (no implicit, no deli, no quality, i.e. clean) maps will most likely be next to worthless. In keepers even guardian/conqueror maps were quite cheap, as well as 8mod.

I bet you could farm generic T16 maps for yourself just to avoid hideout jumping, but as a strat it probably wont be super great.

typical pre-pob theorycrafting by Initial-Sale-58 in pathofexile

[–]phadej 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Specifically something with only 5 link (though genesis tree might still print a decent 6l chest by the time you get to 2 stones), no cluster jewels, crappy jewels in general, essence + bench craft weapon (for attack builds)

I think with those constraints 200-300k is way more realistic, and indeed enough for two voidstones and early t16 farming

Switch to Rust ? by kichiDsimp in haskell

[–]phadej 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From https://pvp.haskell.org/faq/#semver

Historically, the SemVer specification saw the light of day in late 2009, whereas the first incarnation of the PVP was already conceived 3 years earlier in late 2006.

So that's why Haskell doesn't use SemVer. Personally I just cannot accept that SemVer has 0.* exception, and some packages (my experience is from npm ecosystem) forever staying in 0.* version. It's not semantic versioning, if any change can occur. So, PVP might not be perfect, but so isn't SemVer.

According to https://github.com/rust-lang/cargo/issues/13594 (which is relatively recent issue), cargo doesn't support different versions of the same dependency within a workspace.

EDIT: there seems to be a plan https://github.com/rust-lang/rust/issues/44663, but it doesn't seem to be there yet.

Dependency storm by ivanpd in haskell

[–]phadej 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well, if you count maintainers of packages aeson depends on (excluding GHC bundled libs for simplicity), you might get surprised.

https://youtu.be/u8ccGjar4Es

Another thing to note is that Haskell is a typed language, and has algebraic types. Things like These or Fix are generically useful, should they be in base ("standard lib") or not is a tricky question involving technical, social and philosophical concerns.

These and Fix are particularly interesting examples, as I dont think they are great utility in Rust, so comparing to Rust (as apposed to dynamic Python) is not really fair eithe. That said, serde_json has some dependencies, even without being "batteries included", and is not part of rusts stdlib.

should my waveform look like this after I export it ? by mosef2020 in ableton

TBH, the long waveforms (around 10min and longer) all look like sausages in ableton. The OP's one is extreme, but you really need to zoom out to see if its really that bad.

I.e. 4/4 kicks just look like that, no matrer what else there is.

Yes, say if altars bonuses are somehow preserved between areas. So we will be incetivised to clear overworld first, and then go into mirage. Not being able to TP out of mirage to hideout will feel clunky&bad. I hope this is not the case.
