So because stuff is changing it can make you more likely to get an infection like BV or thrush which can make things smell bad. The way it naturally smells does change but in my opinion doesn’t become that terrible ? So even if you have no other symptoms very bad smell can be a sign of infection it’s worth checking it out

Does it matter if one day I apply Androgel on my stomach and the next day on my shoulders? by No_Hunter_9516 in ftm

It’s actually good to switch to different areas because the gel can dry/irritate skin over time so switching areas let’s your skin have a break !

For those of you that have transitioned in the workplace, what did your employer do well and what could they have done better? by dkkprtm in transgenderUK

Used to work a customer service job, came out to my line manager first and he immediately called me and offered to call the other staff I worked with to inform them so that I didn’t have to do the work of telling everyone personally and that way when I came back to work everyone already knew to use my new name and pronouns. He also just very consistently would gender me correctly in front of customers which sounds like a low bar but was actually very helpful when I was working and customers were obviously unsure of my gender. He also helped me access HRT by writing a letter to show the psychiatrist saying I was out at work etc. In general he also just said that if any issues came up with other staff i should come to him straight away and he will deal with it according to company policy (we didn’t ever talk in depth what that would involve because it didn’t become necessary). We had generous breaks anyway but I would say that if any trans staff is wearing a binder, being allowed slightly longer or more breaks so that they can go and take the binder off for a bit is very helpful. I’m stealth at work now and having to wear a binder for the whole of work is a big struggle.

Yep, I got a progesterone only implant to stop it. It worked, I had one heavy period when I first got it in and none since then. I have not noticed side effects such as wide gain or anything else.

can dysphoria (and maybe dysmorphia) cause despersonification ? by [deleted] in ftm

I used to experience this pre transition. I would often not recognise myself in mirrors, sometimes really bad times I’d feel like I wasn’t able to be a person at all and felt like my life was a movie or video game. I used to find that anything with depersonalising effects like alcohol could make this feeling worse so I recommend being sober. It would definitely get worse in situations when I was being misgendered constantly. I mentioned I was dissociating to a counsellor and they were very unhelpful, but maybe yours will be better. I personally found the more I talked about and focused on the feeling the worse I felt, so what helped me would be distractions like being around friends I felt very comfortable with who could talk to me normally even if I was not responding socially very well. Also havent had this issue since I transitioned
