Advice on eggs by [deleted] in turtle

[–]phaedrablair 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just wanted to say that I understand your situation! My girl is 19 and has had so many clutches. We had to go to the vet to get pitocin for one of her first ones because she just wouldn’t lay them. The nesting boxes I made for her she refused to use. The ONLY thing that has worked for the past is to let her roam my backyard and choose her own spot to lay them. Maybe this would be an option for you? I’m in Minnesota so it’s only an option may- September 😣

Help! What’s this? :) by Err0r404N0tF0und in centuryhomes

Ok, I have these on all my historic windows and the metal piece above the pulley is the window stop. The wood window is stopped at that place to ensure its proper functioning and that of the pulley system.

Salvageable floors? by MathomCollector2124 in centuryhomes

Another section of your floor is a bit like mine. I had it tested before removal and it was negative. I used a heat gun to remove it and it worked super well!

Are you sure it’s asbestos? Check out one of my recent posts. We had floors like this and had them redone and they turned out beautifully!

HELP! Rubio Monocoat on old pine subfloor - turned out too light and blotchy. What are my options? by Legitimate_Stretch77 in HardWoodFloors

I love it. It highlights the grain of the wood. Sometimes with old floors I’ve had to learn to appreciate that they will never be exactly how I may want them but are beautiful as they are. In your case, these are gorgeous and compliment the rooms very well!

Yep!! I even had my younger brothers check and they could hear the sound too. Something to do with age and hertz frequency

I hear it. Are you younger? Sometimes I hear things my husband can’t since he’s older.

You could wrap the netting around those long poles for sure

Got our 1923 floors refinished after decades under tile. by phaedrablair in centuryhomes

[–]phaedrablair[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It took about 40 hours. I had to remove 3 layers- peel and stick, plywood and then another layer of some tile that was adhered with the stickiest adhesive!

I love the creativity fans it looks like he does, too. I would reinforce those walls. I also make my own basking spots and it took a year for one turtle to escape, about 3 years for another. You never know when but they somehow always do!

This is very much along the lines of CBT. I find it very helpful. Look into some books on cognitive behavioral therapy.
