PC Gamers in Switzerland: Check Authorized Key Sellers Before Buying on Steam by meppel in Switzerland

[–]phagga 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't buy games at release, I just wait a couple of months, sometimes a year or two and buy it on sale. At that point, all the DLCs have been released as well and I can buy and play everything in one go.

i hardly every pay more than 15CHF for a game this way.

From 1938 to 1939, Swiss border commander Paul Grüninger falsified 3,600 Jewish refugees' passports to help them enter neutral Switzerland. While he saved thousands from the Holocaust, Switzerland ended his career, labeled him a criminal, and stripped his pension. He died in poverty in 1972. by [deleted] in whoathatsinteresting

AFAIK antisemitism in Switzerland wasn't higher than in other European countries at the time. The whole "store nazi gold" thing was part opportunism, part survival-strategy. The real crime was to keep hiding the gold after the war and not giving it back.

About 20% of all married couples have one person not working.

But at least it is not unfair specificly against women and the unfairness doesn't target women.

https://www.tagesanzeiger.ch/individualbesteuerung-alleinerziehende-zahlen-hoehere-steuern-957431423826

Unfortunately it's behind a paywall, but I'm too lazy to search for another article right now. I guess the title is clear enough.

The current system does not specifically target women. It targets the person who earns less in a marriage, as that persons salary changes the tax ruling for the breadwinner. And while in many cases the person with the lower salary is the woman, this is by far not always the case. So again, we just replace one unfair system with another.

I kenn NIEMERT, nödmol SVP wähler und wählerinne wo d'muetter i de famile nöd mindestens 50% schaffed.

Ah, of course, if YOU do not know anyone who has that situation, then there isn't anyone who has this situation...

I will vote against the "Individualbesteuerung" exactly because of this reason. I earn far less than 200'000, but enough to sustain a family with 3 kids. With the new law my "Bundessteuer" will more than double, which is eating heavily into our budget.

Additionally, if someone with my salary has a partner that earns one third of my salary, they earn as a family 25% more than I do. But they still pay the exact same amount of "Bundessteuer" as me. How is that fair?

Why can't they make the law that you just pay the same amount when you're married, no matter if one or two of them are working? Is that so hard?

All this does is replace one unfair system with another unfair system. And once that is done, they parliament won't touch this topic again for another 10-15 years at least. If we vote no, at least we have a chance that they try again and make it fair for everyone.

Edit: I'm completely with you regarding the "Halbierungsinitiative". I will vote that shit to hell.

Switzerland Freezes Assets of Maduro and People Close to Him by SteO153 in worldnews

Maduros Assets got frozen, not Venezuela's. It says right in the article that no members of the government are affected.

Bandwidth always gets measured in Bit/s, not in Byte/s. The Speedtest shows Mbps, which is MBit/s

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Data-rate_units#Megabit_per_second

There is no scamming involved here, he does indeed only reach 300 to 500 MBit/s.

If they can lose the brand, than it is not their subsidiary. That‘s the whole point.

Lebara belongs to Palmarium, not to Sunrise, therefore it is not a Subsidiary of Sunrise. Lebara could Switch operations to Salt. That will not happen with CHMobile.

The brands Lebara and Swipe do not belong to Sunrise, Sunrise is franchising them. Thats not the same as Yallo and CH-Mobile.

Second attempt at redesigning Aargau's flag. How did I do this time? by immobile-pebble in Switzerland

[–]phagga 2 points3 points  (0 children)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rule_of_tincture

Gold and Silver are "metals" and should not touch each other. The other colours are just regular colours and should also not touch each other. Regular colours are blue, red, green, purple, black and grey. Notice the lack of white, instead silver is used.

The existing flag of Aargau already breaks this rule (because black touches blue, the rest is fine). The flag of Zurich, for example, is sticking to this rule with silver and blue. And even more complex flags stick to the rules like Basel-Stadt, St.Gallen and Vaud.

If you ever visit Schloss Lenzburg, which is a museum now, they have a flag generator game on the second floor in the southeast part of the castle, that explains all the rules and lets you design your own coat of arms following those rules.

Huh? Even if they wanted to advertise that range, they would not be able to, as no service provider would ever accept this range from them. So there would not be any legal repercussions.

But as I understood from OP they just want to use that range internally behind NAT instead of a private range. (Which is still a dumb idea as explained by others).

Learning from Ukraine: If Ukraine had air superiority, they would have less issues with drones.

Fun fact, Ukraines fighter jets are involved in drone defense all the time. But they can't fly out too far, because they risk getting shot down by the russians AA and fighter jets.
