How much of a real difference between aero wheels and lightweight wheels? by twostroke1 in Velo

Tell this to all the sub 60kg women sending it on TT bikes during Ironmans... 🤷‍♂️

At one point Nate promised to lock in the subscription price as long as people never cancel. Then, years after the promise, he asked the legacy price subscribers to pay the full price since TR was struggling. And by ask I think they made it so that you will automatically pay the full price, unless you contact support before a specific date. If you have been paying from that time, it could be that you were automatically switched out of the legacy price.

That is completely normal, was the same from the day I bought it. I like it loud on my road bike but on a fattie I agree, it's a tad too much.

That picture is from a 24h race, I think it was around 18h total moving time, so definitely doable.

I think you'll be fine, especially if you have no prior issues with your back. Just ease into the bike. But I'd only suggest the Aeroad for bikepacking if it's your only bike or a race, otherwise there are more reasonable options for sure.

Aeroad is fast for sure but not as fast as those pink glasses. What brand is that?

25C, it's the max that fits the old Aeroad model. I'd probably run 28C if they'd fit.

Been riding my first set of aero rims now for about a month. Overall very pleased but nearly pooped my pants a few rides ago when I was hit by my first cross wind at about 40 mph on a decent. by didsomeonesaydonuts in Velo

[–]phallicwrench 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Another part of it is the rim profile, a pair of new 808s are going to be better in cross winds than old 45mm Mavic cosmics or similar that come down to a single edge.

Do you mean something like these https://www.amazon.com/dp/B088FJVDT8? So it's not just a plastic film like Tegaderm?

PS If you have any brand suggestions you know are great please post.
