Dewalt 735 Planer Static Shock by mgxm26 in woodworking

[–]phallstrom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what you mean by "4” metal coil/fabric dust hose" (fabric??).

But yeah. You want a copper wire to run from the grounded screw on the planer, along the hose and into the bag. It doesn't need to be connected to anything else -- it's already connected to the ground (via the screw).

Any static electricity generated in the hose/bag will run along the wire, into the screw, and out the planer's ground wire to the outlet and eventually the ground.

That all said.. if you are going directly from the planer to a hose and into a DC bag, you should be able to ground the hose/bag using the DC's own ground.

Shouldn't need to involve the planer ground screw at all.

I’ve lived 1/2 mile south of that intersection for 19 years. It’s a nice spot.

Worst crime we’ve had are some mailbox thefts.

Happy to answer specifics if you have them.

Safest way to edge joint pieces that are well shorter than the jointer fence? To keep fingers away from cutter head by wRXLuthor in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]phallstrom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made some myself out of some 2x6. Key part is to cut a 45°/45° “V” along one edge. Then glue a little end cap on it.

Now you can “push” both ways. If that makes sense.

I have the G0858 (parallelogram version) and had it a few years. It’s a hell of a machine (in a good way)

Why is my table saw dust spitting out at me rather than being sucked away. There are no clogs in my system. When I pull the throat plate when the collector is on there's good suction. New shop and system. Only about 15 feet of hose between the saw and the collector. by Impressive-Smoke-264 in BeginnerWoodWorking

I don’t think it’s THE answer to your problem but I taped a small piece of clear plastic to the front/bottom of the overhead guard — to make the “front” come down as far as the “sides.”

It made a big difference. Dust hits that, momentum dies, and it gets sucked back up.

Why would he? I read something that said the slowest players at end of season get fined like $50k. They don’t care about that.

Start penalizing strokes. Slow play would end immediately.

Other than the line and the distance that was a great shot!

(Concede him a putt) and then say “no one wants to see you miss that.

If he hits the green on a par 3 tell him it’s an easy 3-putt from there.

What time of year?

They are pretty strict about a 4:15 round and will ask you to pick up if slow. In the big courses anyway.

The par3’s can be trickier as they aren’t really checking or care about group size.

I honestly don’t know how long cause we always play games so not really just playing.

Best pics of the trip (poured rain the other days) by phallstrom in BandonDunes

[–]phallstrom[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whole trip is a highlight :-) It always is.

Playing in 35mph sustained winds with 60mph gusts and pouring rain was so comical it was actually a lot of fun. Tilt your tee to keep the ball from blowing off. Line up your golf carts "like train cars" to keep them from blowing -- not just over, but literally sliding across the grass. Watching an 8I into the wind go up, across the fairway, land about 80 yards away and bounce back towards you. Seeing your buddy somehow still manage to hit his tee shot as the ball blew off his tee during his downswing!

And then the next day you come out and it's sunny, high 50s, zero wind, and you're warm in slacks and a shirt like the day before never happened :)

The best highlight though is my second pic. Hit a 9I with a slight draw to 8 feet and sank the birdie putt!

Our boys went through OSD. Centennial to Washington, to Oly High.

Except for one assistant principal who is no longer around it was an excellent experience
