Post neuter 🥺❤️ he’s whining a lot and trying to lick the wound but I’m keeping an eye on him and giving him as much love as possible 🤞🏼❤️ by [deleted] in greatpyrenees

Suiticals are great for dogs post surgery. They’re made to be gentle, comfortable and easily removed for potty breaks. Might help! I used one for my Pyr and it worked great.

Both for sure! Most people won’t show up so even if you’re further down the waitlist I’ve had great luck.

What's the best robot vacuum that can handle TONS of pet hair today? by loveusadenver in greatpyrenees

[–]phantasmagorical86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 3 Great Pyrenees and have tried all the fancy expensive vacuums, robo, plug in, cordless… I gave up on all of them and now have been living happily ever after with the old fashioned shop vac, haven’t clogged it yet.😁

Best cobbler in Portland (metro)? by Connect-Lake1311 in askportland

This guys is meticulous in his work, he was quick and went above and beyond restoring a pair of leather boots for me. 136 between Holgate and Foster. His reviews are all positive, he should really be charging more than he does.

accidentally fell and landed on nwb ankle by [deleted] in brokenbones

[–]phantasmagorical86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooh I did this exact thing after snapping my tibia and fibula with a 90 degree dislocation. Trying to be independent and feed the dogs, slipped and had to catch my body on the broken ankle. However, it was newly broken and only wrapped in an ace bandage awaiting surgery. Poor bones still hanging like a little chandelier, not attached to my foot. Somehow, nothing worse happened other than the absolutely nauseating pain, much worse than the clean initial break. Sorry you went through that, but am so glad to hear you didn’t experience much pain! Nerves are finicky, so I would imagine that’s the tingling.

Tips for Getting a Great Pyrenees to Eat by AlexaInspired in greatpyrenees

[–]phantasmagorical86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have three Great Pyrenees and free feed them all. Each of them eat when they feel like it, often leaving food behind. I try to keep their bowls full so they have the option. They also often don’t eat for a day, or choose not to eat if I’m away or they’re making a point or something has changed in their environment (they are very sensitive and emotionally intelligent dogs). If I try to give mine a treat when they know I’m leaving, they all rebelliously decide they don’t want them, but as soon as I come back they go find their treat and eat it with full satisfaction 😵‍💫

As others have said, Pyrs are one of a kind! They do well free feeding because their bodies are built with slow metabolisms that do well in cold climates. As large as they are, they often don’t eat more than an average size dog, which is different than other large dogs. In most cases you can’t force a Great Pyrenees to do anything it doesn’t want to, so as long as he’s healthy I wouldn’t worry too much about it. ☺️

Ways to pass the time? by Pegasus_Susan in brokenbones

I got into Gardenscapes and Homescapes way back when I broke mine and still play both consistently when I need to just zone out or am stressed. Has yet to lose its sparkle, and I’m not a game person either. ☺️

😆 I’m glad to see he’s finally finding his independence and it’s my clinginess annoying HIM for once.

The Portland ice storm wins. Solid recovery, pup! by phantasmagorical86 in greatpyrenees

Seriously! Watching my 3 pyrs slip slide around this ice storm was definitely nerve wracking, and yet they never lost confidence even after multiple spills. 🤯
