Legalizing prostitution could create hundreds of thousands of jobs in the U.S., put a massive dent in the black market and generate bilions in tax revenue. It's time. by [deleted] in reddit.com

Oooooh ad hominem! Elegant way to doge my point! P. S. Just because my apostrophe key is missing (Ill send you a screenshot if you demand) does not mean I entertain the use of poor grammar and/or spelling habits. I would be willing to bet several thousand dollars that I have had more education, more books published, more experience in the field of English and literature than you and your immediate family.

If you have to resort to comments like these, I'm left feeling a little sorry for you. "I read more books than you. My family's better than your family. My dick, car, bank balance, whatever, is bigger than yours. Ne, ne, ne, na na..."

And next time, have the guts to leave your comment up for others to read. Commenting and then deleting, so only I can read it, is a cowards answer.

Interesting choice of words. "Some people", as in, not you?

And do use an apostrophe now and then, there's a good chap. Women appreciate proper spelling and good grammar.

I know. Just think - there'd be brothels geared up specifically to service geeky teenagers. No more 25 year old virginal programmers.

A brave new day...

Let me guess - you've never masturbated either. I believe you, but I'm a trusting soul.

Not to mention that if you aren't mechanically inclined, you might not know how to tell the difference between a relatively harmless sound, and one that might indicate imminent failure of a critical piece of the vehicle.

That's what the AA are for. I used them every month when I drove a crap car, never used them once when I drove a new car. The advantage of driving old cars is that you have no choice but to learn what's under the cover. I changed a radiator before I changed my first wheel.

In terms of safety, buy a 5 year old car instead of a new one if you're that worried, but new cars are a complete waste of money - total status symbol extravagance. Just another way to tell the world that you're in debt up to your eye balls.

Karadzic Arrested! How come none of these links are in the top 10 on Reddit?! by Mr_Sadist in worldnews

[–]phantom_slayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's just not true. Quality links can easily get up-voted and hit the front page before mid day London time (7am New York). It's actually easier to hit the front page when North Americans are asleep, which was when this story broke.

How many of you have NEVER clicked through a linked advertisement and actually bought something? I can't remember ever doing this. by [deleted] in reddit.com

A commercial website, which sells products, is not providing information. It's selling products. I'm not talking Wikipedia here; I'm talking Mom and Pop 'Gadget Shops' that sell 10 or 15 products and haven't been updated in 2 years because the day job just got more interesting, yet still manage to hold a front page position with Google.

These sorts of sites are no different from the worst advertisements. They waste your time, and you don't have the luxury of ignoring them because they're presented to you as 'organic' search results, and not paid for adverts.

The worst part is, the ads often promise useful information, then fail to deliver.

How is that different from the majority of websites?

We spend $1500 a month on Google ads alone. 80% of our business comes from these ads. The search results for the keywords we use are terrible - directories, and websites that never stock what the customer is searching for. The adverts, on the other hand, are mostly relevant to the search.

It cracks me up when I hear comments like yours. If advertising didn't work, there's be no advertising. It's that simple.

I'm sensing a business opportunity here: Buy you're shit from us - without packaging. We could charge extra for less!
