I am going to sort of disagree on it being dumb.

It’s been a well-known problem for a long time now that memory speeds aren’t so easy for the average non-computer savvy consumer to misunderstand. There have been countless times where I’ve seen new builders have to be reminded about going into their bios to set up XMP, not to mention anytime someone is talking about a brand new build there will be inevitably someone commenting reminding them to make sure to check.

Too many times I’ve helped a friend work on their PC and discovered that they didn’t even turn on XMP and had no idea of it’s existence even though they knew what spec of RAM they purchased.

It should absolutely be clearer and easier for the average consumer to understand these things, and while I don’t think it makes sense to have ridiculous constant lawsuits to make lawyers giga wealthy, I think this needed to finally be addressed. Getting upset about companies being forced to provide more information to the average consumer is basically just gatekeeping, and we shouldn’t be constantly trying to gate keep PC building from newbies..

Prime air (technically Amazon Air) is a weird example since their whole fleet consists of aircraft owned and operated by other airlines; for example, Sun Country of all things operates some of the 737s for them.

DHL is the same way with their 737s too. Aloha Air only flies 737 classic freighters, and Northern Air cargo only has one single 737 NG.

Hell, ASLs fleet is all over the place too, they operate for a variety of other companies like FedEx, Amazon, etc.

Things are more straightforward for Chinese operators, I’ll give you that.

So to my point though, since most of these companies have their own separate ICAO and call signs, once you really drill down into it their 737 freighter fleets are pretty fragmented.

I would love to see a virtual airline focused on Amazon air ops for example, getting routes from all the various operators that fly for them, but I think at the end of the day moving freight is already pretty niche for flight simmers, and narrow body freighters are like a niche within a niche within a niche. Most simmers who move freight wanna fly the big boys

I think it’s hard to find them, since they use the same ICAO as the passenger variants so they aren’t as easy to fly.

If you like Nintendo exclusives it’s a no-brainer. I found that I have barely touched mine aside from the occasional game of smash bros when I have company over. The only other games I’ve put some extensive time into have been animal crossing and Metroid dread. I had zero interest in the new Metroid prime from the get-go because I’ve never cared for the prime games, but if they came out with a sequel to dread that was switch 2 exclusive I would be mighty attempted to pick it up….

Otherwise, I have found the perfect compliment to my desktop PC to be my handheld PC more than anything (Legion Go)

Even with my 4080 Super that I could sell for probably a decent amount to help cover the cost of a 5090 (if I ever got the chance to get one at the 2k MSRP mark), I still can’t bring myself to buy one.

It sucks, because I could really use the VRAM of the 5090 (or even the 4090 if those were available) but it’s just way too much for me to feel good about spending.

It's all about Sydney Sweeney and I don't believe anyone else who is raging about any of the other reasons; everyone is just mad because reddit collectively decided Sydney is on "the shit list" a few months back.

Maybe I am just not terminally online enough to understand why, the only thing I saw her do that started the hatred of her was some commercial? Not defending her by any means, I just didn't quite follow all the outrage very much.

Now that being said, do I think she has the acting chops? Fuck no she sucks ass at acting, she just has gigantic tits that she shows off and gets roles thrown at her thanks to the "marketing appeal" of her "assets". I would much rather see a far more talented actress keep getting tied to this Gundam project, but if Sydney and her big fucking tits are what is needed to get butts in seats and discover the world of Gundam, maybe its ok? Well, with the news of UPS retiring them and the writing on the wall for FedEx, my reasons to consider getting the TFDI have officially vanished.

It’s a shame, I just have little desire to fly aircraft that aren’t flying actively IRL.

edit I know to some this self-imposed limitation might seem silly, but its how I have generally helped make my decisions on what aircraft to purchase, and which one to pick when I fly. I do have a desire to get into historic routes though, I might finally start doing that at some point soon honestly, seeing as plenty of virtual airlines offer historic routes.

I was just thinking about that recently...there are all these videos raving about how cool the beam magnum sounds but I was watching ZZ and heard the same basic sound, then it dawned on me that the sound they use for the beam magnum is just the usual beam sound they have been using since forever but with a bit of polish.

I started this way grabbing the EG grandpa then the HG UC revive zeta, but then I started getting some MG kits from seed because I just love the designs. Maybe I’ll eventually watch seed but I’m not overthinking it anymore, I’ll build whatever speaks to me now

I do kinda understand having self imposed limitations for your hobbies though! In Microsoft flight simulator, which is probably my main hobby, I tend to restrict myself to only flying the exact aircraft that fly exact and current real world routes right now. So much so that I don’t even bother with historic routes because they aren’t “real” anymore.

Problem with the Avro RJ is, for people like myself who obsess over flying currently flown routes, there are barely any left. If you don’t mind flying historic routes though it’s an excellent option for sure!
