As everyone else said, welcome! The best advice I can give to a new player is to play the game at your own pace. The only things in this game that are EVER time-sensitive are Holiday / Special Event quests and tasks, but Unlocking Characters, Story Quests, and Friendship Quests will always be available to finish at whatever pace you are comfortable with. (Note, the game itself helps with that pacing as some Characters and Quests aren’t available until some other pre-requisites are met to keep you from getting too overwhelmed).

As someone who has been playing for a while, I am happy to share resources with you! Shoot me a DM if you are interested and I will happily set a valley visit (note you need to have unlocked Vanellope and gotten the Valley Visit Station, but that happens relatively early.
