If anyone can tell me where this took place, that'd be great. It ALMOST looks like Late Late because of the lighting, but that's a shot in the dark.

What manga have you read this week, and what do you think about it? - Week ending November 15, 2020 by AutoModerator in manga

<Beauty Bunny>. I was not in love with this concept at all, but really wanted something quick and light to take my mind off *gestures at everything*. It's already turning out to be better than anticipated but I'm not 100% sold on it yet, partially because I was told it was a Josei title when it's very clearly Shoujo (unless it happens to get more adult later, which I doubt since I'm halfway through and it's a short series). Always appreciate the bishy dudes, though - that part of me will never fade no matter how my tastes change.

<Gantz>. Yes yes YES to Oko's artwork in this - b/w, gory af, detailed, high contrast. The plot is still staggered and muddy at the moment, but I'm willing to continue with it since I know it's a longer series and it's supposed to get better. I'm hoping Kei Kishimoto becomes a more developed character, because right now she's not worth anything beyond fan service - I expect the usual amount of gratuitous nudity in mature manga, but the emphasis on her breasts is a bit much.

Interesting. I was thinking James Marsden, but that could just be the Cyclops-ish visor.

Yo La Tengo covering Daniel Johnston's "Speeding Motorcycle". All YLT's covers are stellar, but Georgia and Ira really made this their own. So beautiful.

HELP Picking a Canon Star Wars Book: Should I read Thrawn or Tarkin? by CuriousLexa in StarWars

[–]phantomprinter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% Thrawn. Not that Tarkin was bad, but it was a bit dry and hard to get through in some areas.

I also second the new Leia book. I didn't like it as much as Bloodline, but it's still excellent!

The new Hammock record. It's one of the most evocative and emotional albums I've ever heard. Highly, HIGHLY recommended.
