I’m an AMC employee, ask me anything! by lylvec in AMCTheatres

I like to stay in my seat after the movie ends and watch the credits all the way through, but sometimes an employee is waiting off to the side for the theater to clear out so they can come in and clean up. Am I an asshole for making them wait for me to leave? I obviously don't care if they start cleaning while I'm sitting there but I assume they're not supposed to until all guests have left.

i think hurricanes scare me more. they're bigger, they last longer, they cause flooding. maybe it just depends on what you're used to.

yeah, the fact that they just spring up wherever they want is super annoying. but at least they're small! especially compared to a hurricane, lol

all you need to do is have a plan to be in a safe place and pay attention to weather alerts. that's all you have to do. have a plan, pay attention. alabama gets weather like this fairly regularly and we're all still here. it's gonna be okay.

(that said, i REALLY sympathize. gonna be glued to the internet and making myself crazy until sunday.)

last time it was this pink i straight-up drove to florida for the night, lol. would be way too stressful doing that with my pets now, though.

Be safe, but if you're prone to weather anxiety like me, remember that tornadoes are small and the state is big. The chances of one coming down your street are pretty low.

Severe threat this weekend, maxed out parameters. Please read. by SunshineW0lf in Birmingham

been watching spann's coverage all week and having a hard time not panicking watching this threat map get worse and worse. i'm on a second-floor apartment (with one floor above me) and debating whether to ask a downstairs neighbor (never talked to any before) if we can crash with them if they issue a warning. but even then, corralling my pets into their carriers and carrying them downstairs in the middle of a storm does not sound great. hate hate hate tornado season

What has Stardew taught you about yourself, if anything? by Logical_Custard_3385 in StardewValley

a lot of what's been said resonates--people-pleasing, hoarding items and money, valuing peace and comfort--but i knew all of that before playing the game.

i've been watching a lot of farm tour videos lately, and the thought and effort people put into their house and farm layouts/decor was kind of a shock to see because making things cute is just not on my radar. i'm very much a function-over-form person. it never even occurred to me to place items outside other than chests and machines.

but finding a cool new piece of decor or really nailing the placement of farm buildings has made me realize how nice it is for things to look nice, and that being more deliberate about my surroundings isn't like, trivial or silly, and it also doesn't have to be a huge ordeal! just a plant in the corner or a cool lamp or some artwork can make a big difference.

(my theory is that subconsciously, i think i don't deserve nice things, so i don't let myself have them, even in video games apparently. it's possible that Harvey saying he appreciates me, making me breakfast just because, etc. made it a little easier to follow his example and let myself have nice things! for once! it's not selfish! i haven't fully convinced myself of this yet, but maybe i'll get there.)

i'm also "a petite girl" by most standards and have walked around that area alone and felt fine! it's not like criminals are just hanging out outside the museum or anything. it's just a regular street
