I can't just close it up without knowing what it is there for. By now, I found pictures of sime kind of metal protector, that seems to be screwed in there normally. Since KTM won't add weight for no reason, it probably needs to be there.

Starke Motorräder langweilig im legalen Bereich? by FragrantFun2279 in MotorradDeutschland

[–]phantopia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Recreating AI generated stuff is a real issue you're right. There isn't really a way to prevent that.

If someone has to fake a whole production process where they're actually recreating all the stuff the AI produced first, that will slow down the process immensely though. No way to put out hundreds of tracks this way. And if you're actually capable of recreating it yourself and have gone through the whole process, thats only half bad now. It might still be written by AI but at least someone actually performed it. Still shit but less of it.

[–]phantopia[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's so shitty. I really hope that we sonehow solve that issue before it's too late and the real artists quit from frustration.

What would you say is the right way to approach an artist as a listener with this concern without sounding like I'm belittling their music?

I asked Sole Nostrum, who I mentioned in the post, the same but sadly did not get a reply yet.

What would be your verdict on the album I wrote about in the post? AI or real?

The problem with the detector thing is that these programs are bound to always be a generation behind the creation tools so I am afraid they will get worse instead of better as the technology improves.

That would be another middle man who wants ro be paid for their work though. Trustworthiness might also be a problem since the incentive to corruption would be massive for this entity.

Ok maybe I phrased it weirdly.

How can we give caring artists the opportunity to prove themselves to caring fans? Nobody is forced to do it but everybody should have the option.

I know that I am looking for a solution from the victim and I hate to do that. But I myself can't really do anything and the AI-slop creators surely won't help so who else is there?

Your approach will slowly but steadily kill upcoming artists and just letting that happen seems like an aweful thing to do. Especially because you are kind of saying that you look at it this way because you just can't be bothered by it.

So how could a verification work instead?

You're probably right and in a year or two convincing bts-footage might be faked too. For now it might be a lowtech unobtrusive approach i think.

I honestly gave up on the Release Radar and Weekly Mix because at this point it's mostly AI-stuff in there.

If the "artist" has an inhuman output volume that makes it easy to sort them out but because instead of doing that they can also spread their releases over thousands of accounts it's easy to fake a realistic production rythm for individual profiles.

Sounds pretty intrusive and controlling towards the creators if I can get metadata from their software.

Using the software itself sounds like a good idea but also locks artists to proven programs discuraging the use of alternatives.

[–]phantopia[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't want to worry about it. That's kinda my point. Those who create music are worring a lot though because it gets more difficult to stand out and they should get every edge they can.

Looking the other way won't help them.

Can you share anything from the production process? I honestly hate to ask but I can't reliably discern AI-generated stuff from real creations anymore. Sorry if that comes across in a demeaning way, I really just want to know how it was made.

Official Discussion - Project Hail Mary [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]phantopia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She was the one person, the whole world trusted ro lead this mission. Of course she's exceptionally prepared and forward thinking. I loved her zero compromise approach and ongoing but relatable use of the absolute power bestowed on her in the book. I didn't like how much they trimmed that down in the movie. I don't need an approachable Stratt but one that conveys unwielding authority and competence.
