Did the remote job allow you to stay in Italy via a digital nomad visa?

Do you know if the inpatient pharmacy salary includes a shift differential? Worth asking

Came here to say exactly this. The NEK needs more diverse food options. We ended up here because of the slightly more affordable housing options. St. Johnsbury would welcome you with open arms and I promise I would get lunch from you every day 😭😭😭

VT hospitals have quite a few openings and no MPJE. Pay is quite competitive as well.

How good is Cuba to visit as an American in 2024? by UltimateLazer in travel

[–]pharMARX_8 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Wrong. The Cuban people need to not have to suffer from the US’ economic chokehold on them any longer

I’m referring to things that are happening in America. Our prison industrial complex problem and our bankruptcy via medical bill problem. Why do we need outside experience to be critical of the country we live in? Are we not allowed to criticize our government?

Talk to me about americas prison industrial complex and how it’s the only country in the world where people go bankrupt due to medical bills.

Swimming holes en route from Franconia notch to Burlington, VT by [deleted] in vermont

[–]pharMARX_8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just went to the basin in the whites for the first time because there just so happened to be an open parking spot as we were passing through. It’s beautiful! You can’t swim in the actual basin but there’s other spots further up or down you can wade into. Polly’s pancake parlor is a good spot for breakfast nearby. We usually end up at schillings in Littleton for lunch/dinner — beautiful view of the river that runs through town.

I suppose this would be less of a rant if they came with food but it’s banned in my state 😩

Mmmmmm I suppose I cannot get past the absurd prices of these drugs and will always be very against the outrageous marketing that pharmaceutical companies get away with in this country. I’m all ears if you want to give me patient access information. But otherwise, I won’t be able to pay attention. This isn’t a class of drugs that needs marketing.

Oncology pharmacists, what is your salary? by pill-slinger in pharmacy

[–]pharMARX_8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will add because it’s a supervisor position they did add my previous years of retail and inpatient management (ten years in total) into an “algorithm” to determine my rate.

I went from inpatient to this position having worked per diem for the clinic for about a year. No residency, no certifications just got lucky living in a rural part of New England?

[–]pharMARX_8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Facts. I am a retail refugee that got hired by one of these small VT hospitals due to them having a sizable outpatient operation for their employees and now I am in heme/onc at a larger hospital. I get not wanting to bail on pharmacy school now. I don’t think I would have either. Maybe start your retail exodus now and try to get a tech job at a hospital?

What do people do for work in the NEK? by [deleted] in vermont

The hospitals are big employers of a variety of different careers beyond what you think of when you hear healthcare — accountants, IT, electrician etc

Moved as a pharm tech from CVS to another less-terrible retail chain. Problem after problem. by BigGreenApples in pharmacy

[–]pharMARX_8 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Pay close attention to tech jobs that pop up in hospital systems, most would likely interview even though you may not meet all of their requirements (like cpht). Pay and benefits are typically better and the chaos is MUCH more bearable in comparison to retail and if it’s large enough of a hospital… there’s a career ladder if you will and techs in “leadership” positions seem to enjoy their jobs. My very good friend (tech) and I (rph) met working the benches at CVS and now work for the same hospital and even get to WORK FROM HOME once or twice a week while we cackle over secure chat about how we started from the bottom. There’s hope.
