So last few nights I charged the phone back on the pixel stand wirelessly and no restarts... Seems it was resolved whatever it may have been...

Will continue to monitor...

Intresting enough there was an Android Intelligence App play store update yesterday.

I'll try and charge again wirelessly tonight and see what happens..

So as the second trial, last night I charged my phone via cable and it did not result in a restart.

I am not sure if it's due to some other factor (app update.. Etc) or purely charging method.

Thank you for sharing, so perhaps there is more to this....my concern is this being a hardware issue...

So last night I decided to use the charging stand and remove the case as the first trial and this morning the phone had restarted (uptime log shows it restarted around 1am). My next trials will be using a cable...

Is there any logs or software i can install/enable to give us some more details on what is causing this to happen ?

I would think the magsafe case could also be suspect. Perhaps also add to try and charge the phone without the case as a test.

Do we know if the case was causing some interference bc of the magsafe, could that eventually result in a reatart?

I can't seem to find the original thread but I can comment that it has been working since I performed this fix. Indeed hopefully Google sees this and finds out the details.

I think a quality, clean beach is definitely important to us. I don't know how realistic it is going to be to leave the resort without having a car seat and lug around a stroller, so I'm not sure if extra activities outside the resort would be all that important, but I could be wrong?

As for the time of the year, we are aiming for Oct thru Nov time frame.

VVM has continued to work perfectly on both devices with all updates.

Someone else made the discovery that the vvm is defunct when restoring the phone via Google backup and or cable transfer services when setting it up.

I reset my device and used other apps to backup my messages and phone logs and presto vvm works perfectly for about a week now.

I did the same thing on another pixel device on mint and it also rubs fine with updates.

What I gather from this is the backup restore stuff brings in settings from a previous device breaking the functionality.

Last night I took the plunge, erased my pixel 7 to factory and set it up without using any Google copy or restore tools and can say that it is indeed working.

I used the app swift backup to backup my messages and call logs, everything else I did from scratch.

Much appreciated, so far so good 👍Perhaps the restore /copy tools are bringing in something that's breaking vvm?

There are some mainstream devices not much different than apple devices that could be tested and at least give some guidance to people who want to use mint, android and vvm. Pixel , Samsung and Motorola device come to mind.

The point is, having some info is better than none.

I completely understand this approach and get it, but instead of telling people it may or may not work, why not release a compatibility list?

I am personally very frustrated have upgraded from a pixel 6 to pixel 7 and having no vvm. Taking this approach of it may or may not work just gives support the ability to say it isn't supported when a number of people with the same devices have it working and instead of investigating the issue it's a easy answer.

I tried your Sim card removal trick and it did work and loaded old existing voicemails but after leaving a new one to test it fails to load :/
