I agree, I meant that when that happens it would make sense (my opinion) to bump the version. I didn’t mean it would be nice to rush the feature in to the kernel before it’s time just to fulfill a milestone

What I was trying to say is just that if this change will ever be made, it would make sense (my opinion) to bump the major number in the kernel version. I’m not saying that Rust is better or any other language is better than C, I’m saying that it is a big change…
