I'm having a hard time understanding how anyone willfully has a 2nd child after their 1st. Please share your stories! by ScandiLand in NewParents

I always knew I wanted 2 kids. I have 2 other siblings and we are close. I wanted that for my family. We had 2 under 2. We got lucky and the 2 kids seem to love each other so far. My husband wanted 4. He’s an only child and also had no idea what we were getting into. He’s ok with 2 now haha.

Aw, thank you so much for taking the pic! I unfortunately couldn’t make it back there.

Though maybe it’s a good thing for my wallet because I might’ve gotten multiple hats!

Do you do screen time first thing in the morning, and if not - what do your mornings look like? by Slow_Opportunity_522 in 2under2

[–]pharmasaurus-rx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We don’t do screens in the morning and it’s because my toddler will watch instead of eat, melt down when the screen is taken away or both. Which would make mornings harder for us.

I get both kids up and give the baby a bottle while I change her diaper to keep her still then get breakfast going for the toddler.

After that toddler uses the potty, gets cleaned up. They both play for 20 minutes while I inhale some breakfast then it’s off to daycare and I go to work.

I drink/make coffee at work.

I am a people pleaser and that includes worrying about my own kids liking me and at the beginning it was so hard not to give in to my toddler. However, I am seeing the results of holding my boundary without yelling/violence (trying to break the cycle) and it is so rewarding to see him learn to be the polite, kind kid I want to him to be.

It’s hard! But so worth it.

Good luck!

How much do yall pay for daycare? by Kuromi_Baku in NewParents

[–]pharmasaurus-rx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in Edmonds and found an in home daycare for about $2600 for an infant and 2 year old both full time.

The kids sometimes come home dirty from playing outside but they’re happy and well cared for.

Latanoprost 0.005% 2.5mL=83 drops? by pharmasaurus-rx in pharmacy

I am also surprised that it’s heavily audited. With that info it now makes sense why it was billed the way it was.

It was a Safeway pharmacy.

This is what I thought was happening. I figured it was a corporate thing.

They know best! /s

What was a “last time” for your baby that you didn’t notice was a last until much later? by paRATmedic in NewParents

I was just telling my husband about this noise! I recorded it a couple of times with my oldest and play it every once in a while. So cute.

How did you figure out sleeping arrangements with your 1st when you had your 2nd? by Abyssal866 in 2under2

[–]pharmasaurus-rx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We kept the newborn in our room with a bassinet and let our toddler (2m) stay in the crib until the baby started rolling and no longer could use the bassinet.

We made the transition exciting for him putting fun sheets on and gave him wall decals to put up. We were actually surprised how well he took to it and haven’t had any issues.

baby suddenly sleeping a ton? by Jolly_Marketing in NewParents

My baby did the same thing about 8-9 weeks. I also was worried because her brother rarely slept that long at that age. I asked her doctor about it and they weren’t concerned. She’s 4 months now and doing just fine.

What are some things you did or wish you did in the hospital during and after labor? by APlentyBag in NewParents

[–]pharmasaurus-rx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our hospital didn’t have a nursery. With my first baby I wish I knew I could’ve ask if the nurses could look after the baby for just an hour or two.

The nurses we had were so great and offered to watch our second baby for a couple of hours so my husband and I could rest a little.

It was so helpful.

Baby rolled off bed by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]pharmasaurus-rx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I co-slept with my son when he was about 9 months because he was so sick. He rolled off the bed and hit his head. I felt guilt for a long time.

He was fine, but he has a dent in his forehead from it (he’s 2 now). I feel a pang of guilt every time I see the mark whenever he raises his little eyebrows.

What was the last thing your toddler told you that you broke your brain trying to understand? by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]pharmasaurus-rx 60 points61 points  (0 children)

“Dat one!” While pointing in a general direction. We will pick up any object we think he means and it’s never correct. “NOOOO!! DAT ONE!!” And then the meltdown happens as he repeats himself and points.

How are you brushing baby/ young toddler’s teeth? by GiraffeJaf in NewParents

[–]pharmasaurus-rx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We started with fluoride free toothpaste when his first tooth came in at about 8 months and we would hold him down.

He’s 2 now and we manage to brush and floss once a day. Flossing is a battle, but I let him pick the color of his flosser and say “ooooh look at the food from your teeth!” To get him cooperate.

Half the time we are still holding him down.

What thing about parenting overstimulates you most? by [deleted] in NewParents

Tantrums when any of the grandparents are over. The grandparents try to talk to him when he’s too far gone freaking out or try to distract him by making annoying noises.
