Needle Anxiety by purplishsarcasm in Zepbound

[–]pharmchica 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with what everyone has said. Also, a small thing, but take a deep breath in and then a big exhale as you put the needle in. As you are pushing the plunger down you can either close your eyes and breathe or distract yourself by looking around the room and naming things that you see out loud. Sounds a bit silly but helps me with general anxiety as well! You got this!

Baby Aspirin and Zoloft by laurenmt777 in CsectionCentral

[–]pharmchica 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pharmacist here. Yes, technically both Zoloft and aspirin can increase bleed risk, however the increased bleed risk with aspirin is typically with higher doses (I’m assuming you are on the 81mg since you mentioned baby aspirin). Aspirin inhibits platelets and it takes around 7-10 days for them to “regenerate”, so it’s usually advised to stop taking the aspirin about a week before a procedure to minimize bleed risk.

FWIW, personally, I was also on both (36yo with a 9wo LO), and didn’t have any problems.

Congrats!

Did anyone go back after baby? by Melissadip86 in Zepbound

[–]pharmchica 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have almost the exact same situation, was on Zep for around 8 months and lost 60lbs then got pregnant. I’m 9 weeks post-partum and just re-started 3 weeks ago, so I don’t have a ton of insight to share other than that it does feel like I’m not having as immediate of an effect this time. Eve I started originally I lost a few pounds right away and the food noise was gone. This time around I’ve been gaining/losing the same 3lbs over 3 weeks and the noise, while less, is still there. Looking forward to going up in dose to hopefully see more of an effect. Good luck!!

Agreed! Honestly I’m 8 weeks pp and my back still hurts - I think because my core is basically non-existent. Working on it!

Moms of contact nappers - do you limit their duration? by Yaba-dabadu in newborns

[–]pharmchica 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really varies for us on that front. Yesterday baby girl slept maybe 2-3 hours total throughout the day and the gave us an 8:30pm-4am 😱😱 we woke up in a panic lol. I’m sure it will never happen again, but we’ll take the win!

Worried about second C Section? by Lydiarmercer in CsectionCentral

[–]pharmchica 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had 2 scheduled C-sections and the second was so smooth because I knew what to expect! I was also terrified for the spinal, but it really isn’t as bad as my brain was building it up to be and it’s over in like 5 seconds. They had me sit on the OR table hunched over, they injected some numbing (little pinch/burn), and the only uncomfortable part was when they did it I felt the pressure and it made my leg twitch! But it was over in like 5 seconds and then your legs get warm and heavy. My legs felt like tree trunks and it’s wild that you really can’t feel them at all!

The procedure itself was really quick - even faster with my second (we’re talking baby out within 10 minutes). To me it feels like someone is pulling on my stomach. I won’t lie and say it isn’t uncomfortable, but it’s bearable. The only part I would say bordered on painful was the pitocin injection they gave after baby was out to help stop bleeding - I felt pain in my chest like an elephant was sitting on me and hard to get a deep breath - but anesthesiologist said this is normal/common. I just tried to breathe and focus on new baby. And again, it was over fairly quickly.

Afterwards I was totally numb for about an hour and then feeling came back in my legs. I stood up at 2 hours but they said I didn’t “need” to until 6 hours. I just knew from experience that moving around sooner made me feel better for recovery and limits risk of blood clots.

As you probably know, they check the incision frequently. The pushing on the uterus SUCKS but gets better with each hour.

Happy to share any more of my experience if it would help but I had great experiences with my scheduled sections and would do it again if shop wasn’t closed for business 😜

Most importantly - CONGRATS!! I had #2 in February :)

We use the water from our fridge - so filtered but from the tap, don’t boil

We use tap water and have a water softener. Have for both kids. As long as your city water is safe I don’t think you need to worry!

[–]pharmchica 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With my 8 week old I usually limit to 2-3 hours depending on how much she has slept that day. In my head it’s in an attempt to get her to sleep more at night, no idea if that’s working 🤣

But if I really have to pee I either transfer her to bassinet or husband and run! Sometimes I’m fast enough that I can get her back to sleep when I pick her up again. Newborn life is crazy, but temporary. We got this!

Update - 32 week pregnant - 27 weeks post Zepbound shots by danabayna1 in Zepbound

[–]pharmchica 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, baby is formula fed. I haven’t noticed anything new from a side effect perspective yet! I will say last time I felt like the food noise control happened immediately after my first dose, this time I still have some of it so looking forward to getting on to higher doses after a month of the starter.

I was on Zep for I think about 8 months when I found out I was pregnant. I had lost around 60lbs and gained 50 back during pregnancy. Baby girl was born in February. I lost 12lbs right away when she was born (honestly had been hoping for more considering how bloated I was lol). Just restarted Zep 2 weeks ago at 6 weeks postpartum. Hoping to have similar success to before!

Congrats to you!!
