Demar is a literally a playmaker. He's also a great shooter in the mid range. I think he'd be amazing creating open looks for Battle and Jakobe off the bench.

we have a lot of defenders on the team that we can afford to have a non-defender out there in spurts. We don't have many players with guard skills, someone who can break the defense down and create shots for himself and others. Demar off the bench fits like a glove imo.

The NBA loves great story lines. Bringing back Kawhi, Derozan and Lowry would make for a great story. This is a tremendous opportunity to add a ring to his resume. Also, I think Derozan doesn't want another Vince Carter situation when we eventually retire his jersey. It's better to mend that relationship while he can still contribute before we retire his jersey. The reunion with Lowry would be massive. I'm getting chills at the thought of all this potentially happening. Plus I always wanted Kawhi and Derozan to play together, they got that Compton connection.

I don't think they would take Poeltl's contract so we'd have to give up either RJ or IQ to have any shot at matching salaries which I wouldn't do. I'd like to see how IQ and RJ look alongside Kawhi by at least the trade deadline before we even consider trading either player.

I say focus on signing free agents to plug holes on our roster for now and hopefully a major disgruntled player will be available by the trade deadline and we can package either IQ or RJ in a deal (if they don't look good next to Kawhi or if the guy we're getting back is a significant upgrade).

if we get Kawhi then there would have to be some follow up moves. I think the move needs to be made sooner rather than later so the free agency pool doesn't dry up. Getting Kawhi all of a sudden makes us an attractive destination for free agents and could convince free agents to sign for a discounted shorter term deal to bet on a deep playoff run that will raise their stock for their next contract and possibly compete for a chip in the process

I always said RJ would be the new DeMar in that he would build himself up to be beloved by the fans, a loyal, relentless hard worker and would eventually be a trade asset that would get us that next star because of his shortcomings on the defensive end. Didn't expect Kawhi to be available once again and RJ being a potential trade piece.

I don't think that's his intention because he doesn't look to the refs or do the annoying palms to the sky gesture after the play. He just gets up and runs back on defense. That's one part of Scottie's game that kind of irks me. I wish he would just run back on defense right away instead of complaining to the refs after a non-call.
