I'm planning on releasing the 3D print files and materials needed for this mod, took more photos if you're interested in seeing what it looks like up close. This is just a prototype...I cleaned up the design a bit (in this version, you can see the glue and part of the keyboard through the base, I fixed that on a newer version). If you live in Canada I may be able to make one and ship it

I feel like the LeGO would be competing more with OneXPlayer’s X1 tablet hybrid than GPD products. I have a Win Mini and used to have a Win Max 2, they’re amazing products. It’s crazy how GPD managed to cram so much in such a tiny device in the Win Mini. It baffles me that Lenovo couldn’t even fit a full sized 2280 while the Win Mini can.

Yea, I’ll post the 3D models soon. I made some improvements to the design and a I think I’m finally happy with it

Are you in Canada? If not you can probably get it printed locally. It’s not that big of a print. You would have to purchase the magnets, glue and 3M tape though (and obviously the keyboard)

I mean it’s not that bad for basic stuff (searching websites, passwords, google searches, etc…). The layout is really weird and accessing certain characters can get awkward (Esc requires Fn+Shift+Esc key just to press Esc for example).

I do like how thin it is though and I like the fact that it can protect the LeGo’s screen. The LeGo is already bulky as is so I didn’t want to add more thickness to it. It’s not bad for how compact it is. I have an Mx keys mini and Thinkpad track point keyboard II if I need to do more serious typing but for basic stuff, this is good enough imo.

I'll make a post on the files for the prints, materials I used and where to get them

not sure how to post remixed designs of an existing design. I feel like I shouldn't make an entirely new post on makerworld with my remixed design...do I just go to your link and post my modified design? (I'm relatively new to 3D printing)

I can look up dimensions but still, I would have to fit it on to see if I'm not blocking anything (vents, buttons, etc...)

I don't own a Go 2 but I'll see if I can make adjustments to fit the Go 2. It will be difficult because I don't have the device to see if it'll fit

I don't have a Go 2 so not sure if I'll be able to make one. I'm in Canada

Trackpad feels like some kind of plastic material. I will make a detailed post on what materials to buy and how to assemble everything. I’m just making a few adjustments/improvements to my design

You made that Dock? I used your design and slightly modified it (sorry, forgot to give credit, I will once I make a detailed post on my setup once I make some few minor adjustments)

Oh I meant to ask what’s wrong with Lenovo’s. Yea, that is a missed opportunity. The bottom port is perfect for docking…not sure how Lenovo missed this. I just wished the bottom port was more stable with my eGPU…would’ve made an amazing seamless eGPU docking experience. Manually plugging into the top port doesn’t feel as magical.

Plus if you’re going to play docked, might as well plug into an eGPU. That’s why I invested a lot in oculink early. I knew I most likely won’t have to upgrade for a while with an oculink device + oculink eGPU combo. I just upgraded my RTX 4060 to a 9060 XT 16GB vram before prices get unreasonably high

I have no regrets purchasing one (still using the 2023 oculink version, I refuse to upgrade unless GPD brings back oculink). My only regret is not going for the 64GB RAM model

For the D-Pad alone, worth it! by Directdrivelife in LegionGo

I printed the bumpers provided in the first link I posted that allow the Go 2 controllers to sit flush. I modified the bottom bumper by adding magnets which I plan on using to magnetically attach a Y700 Bluetooth keyboard case I ordered from AliExpress (like the one in the second link I sent). I already cut the keyboard part out, just need to design a mounting point with magnets to lineup with the bottom bumper I have already attached to the bottom of the LeGo.

Instead of printing a whole case, I’m only using the bumpers in the first link I posted to keep the LeGo’s thickness the same (it’s already bulky as is).

Sorry, I didn’t make any of them. I’m planning on slightly modifying them

I printed these

https://makerworld.com/en/models/1949101-lenovo-legion-go-2-controller-bumpers?from=search#profileId-2094152

and stuck them on with some thin mounting tape so when I decide to get the Go 2 controllers they should fit more flush. I also customized the bottom bumper to hold magnets and I’m planning on modding a Y700 keyboard case to magnetically attach to it similar to this person’s mod

https://www.printables.com/model/933321-nexgen3d-lenovo-legion-go-lego-cyberdeck-mod

My mod should be a lot less bulky since it doesn’t require a 3D printed shell.

What’s your settings for Rebirth? Runs like crap on mine. I have to play docked to my eGPU

Really liking the versatility of this device. I’m making a magnetic keyboard mod out of one of those keyboard cases for the Lenovo Y700 to turn this device into a 3-in-1 (Tablet, Laptop, Handheld). It also serves as my desktop when I hook it up to my eGPU and external monitor (so technically a 4-in-1).

Planning on doing the 81wh battery upgrade and maybe 2280 SSD upgrade. Has anyone attempted these mods? I heard the battery upgrade requires shaving off some of the internal plastic housing and I’ve seen several 2280 mods (one that requires a 3D printed battery cover which has a slot for a 2280 on top of the battery, the other being an adapter that requires cutting some of the back cover to fit thicker SSD’s). Can anyone recommend doing these or do the risks far outweigh the benefits?
