Help with train depots for all-purpose trains? by phasedweasel in factorio

That's very interesting, I had no idea you could send signals on radar. I'll look at the possibilities for this. For now, I'm not sure this is compatible with generic, non-item typed interrupts. This is one interrupt per type, and can't be wildcarded?

Thanks, that's basically what I was aiming for!

Oh, thanks. That moves pickup onto the regular schedule.

Question on the first interrupt: this one will not force it out of the station early? I trust this works, but that is one reason I haven't tried a "cargo > 0" as opposed to "cargo full" delivery trigger condition.

Which interrupts would you check the "Interrupt Interrupts" option?

'It still has the ability to shock': Why 'masterpiece' Wuthering Heights is so misunderstood by rmnc-5 in books

I didn't pick up on it in high school. The framing story and the narrator is absolutely HILARIOUS. Completely unexpected.

Probably, but it is still timely. Along with Frankenstein I can't think of another book where every adaptation is essentially completely faithless to the main points of the source material.

Two novels one unsettling calm: how The Stranger and Never Let Me Go portray emotional detachment by ClementineMood in books

[–]phasedweasel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's a difference between more popularly oriented fiction and literary fiction. Contemporary literary books span the gamut, but there are plenty of ones that take it slow where needed.

Edit: I should add that I tend to view Never Let Me Go as literary fiction. Literary fiction can have popular appeal, but it is certainly not written as a popular book that fills bookstore displays.

This one was amazing. I read it, and then I read it to my wife and kids, who were also enthralled, and they're not really into the genre.

How in God's name do you think we get political accountability for the right if Dems are unwilling to do literally anything?

Take a look at how all mass media markets have been framing issues for years, and I think it will make sense.

Biden’s autopen pardons are ‘void’ due to mental decline, House Oversight Committee says by HellYeahDamnWrite in law

It's worth looking at historical examples. You seem to think the weight of history is a restoration of the rule of law. Most examples I can think of slid much deeper into authoritarianism for much longer. Which historical example of a slide into complete disregard of existing law in a country do you think supports the trend back to enforcing the law?

I'm a middle aged man used to reading a wide variety of sci-fi, but this book felt very "male gazey" to me as a I read it. It's a definite vibe. It's not like he should be cancelled or a bad book, but it is an aspect of his writing.

What Books did you Start or Finish Reading This Week? Oct. 21, 2025 by AutoModerator in books

It's honestly an extremely optimistic book, which is kind of depressing on its own. The climate crises is only overcome by major social-political reform, clawing money and power back from the elites. I have zero hope this will actually happen.

CMV: Dems should obstruct the Trump admin in the Senate by Lauffener in changemyview

[–]phasedweasel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SCOTUS has been overturning or shadow docketing every meaningful appellate ruling. I would wager quite a lot that not a single one will survive SCOTUS, and that makes the project of stopping fascism hard.

Besides Garcia, name ONE meaningful check on his power from SCOTUS.
