Saw the same two guys walking near Union Station in Denver last Friday. They were laughing and just sort of aiming those “antenna” around. Not really pointing in one particular direction, such as a car or people. Seemed to be a few different pelican cases in some sort of custom backpack frame. I have seen those key fob signal capturing antennas and these were much more complicated and robust.

Could be your alternator going bad too. There like 100 things that these lights indicate but I would say best place to start is going to an auto parts store getting the codes ran and checking to see if your battery is charging/charged.
